Quilty Indulgence

Monday, June 18, 2012. The first thing I want to post are photos from my latest, most wonderful project: Adrian's, "Welcome to our World" gift. My sister-in-law is expecting her first child and we are extremely excited about this new addition to our family. Right after she and her husband announced the addition to their family, I discovered Malka Dubrawsky. I think it was fate. When I saw her book,. Fresh Quilting: Fearless Color, Design, and Inspiration. A Stitch In Color by Malka Dubrawsky for Moda.

Quilty Indulgence: Meet the Teddy Bears

http://quiltyindulgence.blogspot.com/2011/10/meet-teddy-bears.html

Friday, October 7, 2011. Meet the Teddy Bears. This past January I decided that I was going to learn something new and take a Teddy Bear class from the Master, Francy Gordon of Bears: Plain and Francy. I am very lucky because she lives locally and teaches out of a local quilt shop, Country Quilts and Bears. Lucy was supposed to be Olivia - when she was born her parents named her Lucy instead. Lucy's bear is now called Olivia. Hazel went to Nora. Nora is our youngest grandchild. If you don't want to make ...

Quilty Indulgence: July 2010

http://quiltyindulgence.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 27, 2010. What are you all sitting on while you sew? But honest, it really did look good when I did it! I covered it with a towel. Really, I did. In the interest of full disclosure I took the towel off the chair for the photograph so you could see how really terrible this chair actually looks! So, the reason for the post? Really, what are YOU sitting on while you sew? Does it need a face lift like mine did? Monday, July 19, 2010. For nearly nine months, while she was being cultivated in my ...

Quilty Indulgence: November 2010

http://quiltyindulgence.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 28, 2010. I have been working like a dog making these custom Doggy Bags for customers. I just finished a few more and realized I hadn't done Show and Tell yet. I have been making these for sale in my etsy shop. As well as here locally. Here are photos of the first two that started the craze. Their "Grandma" is going to put them under the tree with a bag of their dog food, a few treats and maybe a few other items. Now when they travel to Grandogs house they will do so in style! Being a Gr...

Quilty Indulgence: October 2010

http://quiltyindulgence.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 15, 2010. Introducing my newest grandchild, Jackson Scott. He was born on Saturday, October 9th and let me tell you, he's a big boy! His momma was quite a trooper and she put in an amazing two days of labor to bring this wonderful little man into the world. Look at that hair! And there he is, on the scale proving that he weighed 9 pounds, 13.6 ounces! He looks three months old! I get to meet him on Monday and I can't wait! Just look at that face! Family need not be defined merely as those with whom they share blood but for those for whom they would give their blood.”- from Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens. Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Welcome to Country Quilts and Bears! I am so happy to see CQB create a blog! Well, over the years I've made some pretty wonderful friends and met the most interesting people. So welcome to blog-land! Family need not be defined merely as those with whom they share blood but for those for whom they would give their blood.”- from Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens. Monday, October 17, 2011. Please read all instructions carefully before you begin. Put the zipper in the front instead of the back. That was the end of those slacks.and of NOT reading instructions. Or so I thought! Never being a patient person, I'd usually try to figure out how to put something rather than reading the instructions. hmmmm.

Sew Bee It Clothier: Fun in the Studio!

http://sewbeeitclothier.blogspot.com/2011/11/fun-in-studio.html

Saturday, November 19, 2011. Fun in the Studio! You know how much I love to work in the Studio. Well, I was caught up with business and wanted to create a bit of Turkey Time embroidery for my granddaughter, Hadley. So I went to Jacki. Of a fabulous place called Embroitique. She offers some of the most unique item for us embroiderers! I was having some technical issues, ( no remarks please, I am improving! And Jacki was there to ensure that I could download this design and prepare Hadley's new top. Fit Fo...

So much for keeping up with the blogging. Let's try this again.the holidays were full of fun and illness. The Florida-Funk hit just about everyone with cough, chills, no thrills, and lots of flu, and other stuff. Now that is all over and we're off to the races. I'm an equal opportunity shopper! Family need not be defined merely as those with whom they share blood but for those for whom they would give their blood.”- from Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens. Tuesday, September 6, 2011. I love fabwic.". The best part of Hurricane Irene was that we had a visit from our kids who lived in the way of her path! What an unexpected surprise! So while playing with my little Khloe she ran over to a pile of fabric and caressed the fabric saying, 'I love fabwic! Not usually for one so wittle! I have been s...

Family need not be defined merely as those with whom they share blood but for those for whom they would give their blood.”- from Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens. Saturday, August 31, 2013. Goes a long way! Yes, I've turned into a planner of sorts. Usually I have been a person who puts things off.however, I have begun to plan way ahead so that I can meet deadlines.scary thought isn't it? I can't give out any clues but trust me I think the guild will like it! And my to-do quilting list keeps growing.

quiltygoodness

A quilt blog by a non-traditional quilter in Chicago. Thursday, February 21, 2013. Leo baby quilt finished. I finally finished this quilt! I wasn't able to make it to the store to get more thread. I was cleaning up all my notions and so forth when I found some thread that was the exact same color. Score! So I was able to finish quilting and add the binding. I went with machine binding for two reasons:. 1 It is faster. I hope the recipient likes it! Saturday, February 9, 2013. Thursday, February 7, 2013.

Friday, August 14, 2015. Last month, I tried my hand at a new bag. I have made several clutches, pouches, and tote bags in the past, but it was time to use a real pattern. I wanted a purse that would be large enough to hold my wallet and a few choice items; I'm typically a large bag carrier and I am tired of hauling things around! Granted, having a small purse usually forces me to bring along another tote bag to most things. but I digress. I'm happy to show off my new 241 tote bag. I couldn't help pickin...

Quilty Kilty

These are things I make in my wee Edinburgh flat. I wish I had a bigger room and table, but it can be done- even king-size quilts! Tuesday, 31 March 2015. 2nd Quilty Kilty junior quilt. Quilty Kilty Junior has sewn again! It's such a good way of thinning out my stash (what a terrible thing to say- of course I mean- it's great to see her inspired and wanting to make her own gifts). She's going to have more projects finished than I have at this rate. Lots of fun and a great project for the wee ones! This q...
