quiltygoodness

A quilt blog by a non-traditional quilter in Chicago. Thursday, February 21, 2013. Leo baby quilt finished. I finally finished this quilt! I wasn't able to make it to the store to get more thread. I was cleaning up all my notions and so forth when I found some thread that was the exact same color. Score! So I was able to finish quilting and add the binding. I went with machine binding for two reasons:. 1 It is faster. I hope the recipient likes it! Saturday, February 9, 2013. Thursday, February 7, 2013.

quiltygoodness: making progress

http://quiltygoodness.blogspot.com/2013/02/making-progress.html

A quilt blog by a non-traditional quilter in Chicago. Saturday, February 9, 2013. One of my goals/resolutions for 2013 was to spend at least 2 hours every week sewing, cutting, pressing, etc. I didn't make my goal for January because I was gone for a week in San Francisco, followed by a week of being super sick and sleeping all the time! Has really made me feel proud of what I can do if I put my mind to it. With all that being said, this is what I was working on this week. February 11, 2013 at 1:23 PM.

http://quiltygoodness.blogspot.com/2010/06/baby-quilt-finished.html

A quilt blog by a non-traditional quilter in Chicago. Monday, June 28, 2010. I showed this quilt before but I've finished it now. It came out really cute. And the pieced back:. I got it done super early! My friend isn't due until the end of September, but it works out. I am pretty busy in the next few weeks, and we are moving apartments as well, so everything is going to have to be packed up pretty soon. June 28, 2010 at 7:16 PM. And in plenty of time too! A quilt blog by a non-traditional quilter in Chicago. Tuesday, January 8, 2013. One of the ideas I found on Pinterest was this lovely tutorial. For fabric ornaments from V and Co. quiltygoodness: first finish of 2011

http://quiltygoodness.blogspot.com/2011/01/first-finish-of-2011.html

A quilt blog by a non-traditional quilter in Chicago. Monday, January 10, 2011. First finish of 2011. I actually finished this last Monday, but I haven't had time to take pictures. This is a disappearing nine patch quilt made for a friend having a baby (aren't they all, right now? I like making gender neutral quilts, even when the sex of the baby is already known. I think it is just fun, playful, and colorful. Here is the detail:. It feels good to check another one off the list! Chicago, IL, United States.

A quilt blog by a non-traditional quilter in Chicago. Sunday, January 31, 2010. Love beads quilt finished. I finished quilting and binding the Love Beads top! I really love how the quilting turned out. I stippled all the teal areas, left the lines unquilted, and then spiral quilted the circles. It was really fun and the back of the quilt looks awesome. Here is a detail shot of the quilting on the front. And here is the back. I really love this quilt. I hope my friend and her baby boy like it! Ethereal te...

January | 2010 | No longer just "some girl"

https://cf29.wordpress.com/2010/01

No longer just “some girl”. Archive for January, 2010. Posted by Betsy in Uncategorized. It has been almost two full months since I last posted. I check a lot of blogs every day, but writing on my own just seems like too much work. An update in bullets. However, I have found another bulge. It is at an old incision area, and I was supposed to have it checked out today, but my doctor was called into emergency surgery in the early afternoon. So a postponed check-up until Friday. The now TWO MONTHS of comple...

No longer just “some girl”. I hate my job. Posted Friday, October 23, 2009 by Betsy in Uncategorized. Specifically, I really am starting to hate the school in which I work. Let me count the reasons why:. Lack of leadership. At this point, I would even take weak leadership. It’s better than none. Lack of effective, proactive measures to reduce discipline issues. Lack of accountability. Not concerning test scores. Concerning classroom practice. Lack of work ethic among many of our staff. You are commenting...

Friday, August 14, 2015. Last month, I tried my hand at a new bag. I have made several clutches, pouches, and tote bags in the past, but it was time to use a real pattern. I wanted a purse that would be large enough to hold my wallet and a few choice items; I'm typically a large bag carrier and I am tired of hauling things around! Granted, having a small purse usually forces me to bring along another tote bag to most things. but I digress. I'm happy to show off my new 241 tote bag. I couldn't help pickin...
