Around the Blocks: A finish!

http://rachelmhblog.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-finish.html

A quilting journey that detours for other activities that captivate and inspire. Saturday, June 27, 2015. I finished the quilting on the small quilt. I suppose I will use it for the baby girl gift, but I did purchase her some little pink outfits. She is coming into a family with four brothers so she needs some pink. Loops and stippling for the quilting. In other news.we had a couple of wild visitors last night. But now to what really caught my eye! That quilt is scrumptious! June 27, 2015 at 10:57 PM.

Around the Blocks: Running

http://rachelmhblog.blogspot.com/p/running.html

A quilting journey that detours for other activities that captivate and inspire. 15k training.8 slow miles.the day after my 57th birthday. So thankful I can still do this. I did my fourth Half Marathon this morning, November 21, 2015, the Secret City Half Marathon in Oak Ridge. I PR'd! I finished a little over three minutes faster than the Foothills Half I did three weeks ago. My knees are killing me but I am still very happy! Unofficial Garmin time was 2:37:58. Took first in my age group, but honestly I...

Around the Blocks: Friday

http://rachelmhblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/friday.html

A quilting journey that detours for other activities that captivate and inspire. Friday, May 22, 2015. Today was a long run day. Perfect weather for it. Really wanted to run over this bridge, but chickened out. Received some new pictures and videos of my baby girl. She is growing up so much! 15 1/2 months old already! Her daddy is awfully happy, but obviously she is not. After running and getting cleaned up, decided to do a 'What I Wore' pic. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Late Life Runner: February 2016

http://lateliferunner.blogspot.com/2016_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 26, 2016. Funny, it seems to me now that 5 miles isn't really a long run.guess it's all about perspective. Thursday, February 18, 2016. Cold but out there. Monday, February 15, 2016. I knew I had to earn that medal I received Saturday. So I ran my 9.3 miles today on the treadmill. I feel better now. Saturday, February 13, 2016. Hot Chocolate 15k Nashville. At first I thought, "I can do this" but I was standing around in the thick of the crowd waiting on our corral to start. The quilting ...

Late Life Runner: November 2016

http://lateliferunner.blogspot.com/2016_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 27, 2016. Most days I really don't feel my age. I'll be 58 in January. Been running for four years. I recently did my fifth half marathon, and a 10k on Thanksgiving day. I just can't seem to get any faster. My maximum heart rate is about 200. I know that is way above the 220-age formula, but it is what it is. I am ready to try the MAF. Saturday, November 19, 2016. I finished my 5th HM today. I survived. I wanted so bad to beat by best time.and I did! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The quilt...

Late Life Runner: September 2016

http://lateliferunner.blogspot.com/2016_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 30, 2016. I'm back from my trip to see the grands. Sniff. Sniff. I sure hated to leave them. So very thankful for facetime and texting. I managed to get in a good 3 miler, and 5 miler while I was there, but that really isn't much in three weeks. I was afraid my HM training went down the drain. However. I was able to do 7 miles today! Sunday, September 11, 2016. Ha hathis is about the only running I will be doing while in Scotland. Sunday, September 4, 2016. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Late Life Runner: May 2016

http://lateliferunner.blogspot.com/2016_05_01_archive.html

Saturday, May 14, 2016. Running in Jackson Hole, WY. We went on a little vacation to Wyoming. It was kind of like a bucket list thing to get to run on this path in the "hole" of Jackson, along side the Elk Refuge. I was hoping I might see some big game crossing, but didn't. I'd probably been scared to death if I had. I ran 2 miles out and back. I wanted to do more, but got a little chicken as I got so far from town, so I turned around at 2 miles. The path goes on for miles and miles. Sunday, May 1, 2016.

Late Life Runner: July 2016

http://lateliferunner.blogspot.com/2016_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 30, 2016. Not an attractive pic by no means, just keeping it real. Friday, July 22, 2016. Like a lot of the country, we are in the midst of a heatwave. Yes, 100 degrees! Needless to say, I haven't been running outside much. I am doing my half marathon training and needed to do 5 miles today. So inside it was. Slow and steady wins the race. Felt great. Friday, July 8, 2016. So after a shower, I rewarded myself.with some Blue Belle Homemade Vanilla ice cream and fresh peaches. Yummo.

Saturday, November 19, 2016. I finished my 5th HM today. I survived. I wanted so bad to beat by best time.and I did! Not by much though. I finished at 2:36:30 and placed 10 of 16 in my age group and 420 out of 533 total half participants. At almost 58 years old, I am happy with that. I am really proud of my brother. He walked his first 5k after losing 77 pounds since spring. November 23, 2016 at 5:54 PM. And to your brother, too.) I ran zero HMs this year! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Late Life Runner: Long Run Friday - Half Training

http://lateliferunner.blogspot.com/2016/10/long-run-friday-half-training.html

Saturday, October 8, 2016. Long Run Friday - Half Training. Wasn't sure I could do it, but I did. Then came home and signed up for a couple more races. Nothing like a good long run to make you feel invincible! I really love that feeling after a long run - tired, sore, spent. The endorphins really show up after a good run. Probably the farthest I've run since the 15k I did in February. October 17, 2016 at 4:18 AM. October 21, 2016 at 12:28 PM. I am EXACTLY like that too! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Re]DUX: adaptive architecture, [re]use and mixed use. This thesis examines the implications a building's history/past has on its future development. It is guided by the idea that some structures are more capable than others in making the transition from one function to another and that the need for this transition is inevitable if the economy in which these structures exist is to survive. The historic industrial buildings that we choose to keep are physical and tangible reminders of the original nature o...
