Rachel Reads
For someone who professes not to like YA, I sure do seem to be reading a lot of it lately. I can’t help it. My daughter keeps handing me books and telling me that I “have” to read them. Well I am not normally a pushover, but when my daughter shoves books at me I am powerless, completely powerless, to resist. In my last post. I complained that the author created false suspense by withholding information from the reader that the characters knew. Well that sure wasn’t a problem in. I think the publisher sho...

100 Books in 2009
100 Books in 2009. The story of one woman's quest to read 100 books.in 2009. Thursday, May 21, 2009. The Duggars: 20 and Counting! Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar. So I loved this book. There are a lot of reasons for me to have liked it. It's well-written and well-organized. The voices of the authors are genuine, and the subject matter is interesting and unusual. That's not why I loved it though. I loved this book because I am freaking fascinated. And therein lies her charm. Look at how well organized she is!

Resistance is futile
I vow to assimilate the world's philosophies - and I will grow within them. Sunday, January 25, 2015. Love Without End, by Glenda Green. Ccording to Glenda's painting, Jesus has dazzlingly blue eyes and chestnut hair. :) I hear rumor that this fits the description of Jesus given in. Heaven is for Real. One issue I had with this book is that she put her emphasis in bold. And she used so much bolded emphasis that it became. The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, by Holly Black. Sunday, January 18, 2015.
