I vow to assimilate the world's philosophies - and I will grow within them. Sunday, January 25, 2015. Love Without End, by Glenda Green. Self-Improvement - Job Hunt. Trying to buff up my resume so that I feel more presentable. First DON'T get the ebook! Often read like an advertisement for Whitcomb's webpage and other books. Resistance is futile: August 2014

http://rachelreadingnthinking.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

I vow to assimilate the world's philosophies - and I will grow within them. Saturday, August 30, 2014. Why I'd switch places with Emma. This week's Feature and Follow Hop. And Alison Can Read. Asks us to write about characters we'd like to trade places with. This was a really hard question for me, because the books I love the most tend to be about people that have problems galore. Hermione Granger? No thank-you. Don't want to battle Voldemort. I have my own demons to battle. Feature and Follow Friday.

Rachel Reads

For someone who professes not to like YA, I sure do seem to be reading a lot of it lately. I can’t help it. My daughter keeps handing me books and telling me that I “have” to read them. Well I am not normally a pushover, but when my daughter shoves books at me I am powerless, completely powerless, to resist. In my last post. I complained that the author created false suspense by withholding information from the reader that the characters knew. Well that sure wasn’t a problem in. I think the publisher sho...

There are a lot of reasons for me to have liked it. It's well-written and well-organized. The voices of the authors are genuine, and the subject matter is interesting and unusual. That's not why I loved it though. I loved this book because I am freaking fascinated. And therein lies her charm. Look at how well organized she is!
