Down Syndrome Life: Voicemail
http://downsyndromelife.blogspot.com/2008/11/voicemail.html
I have created the “Down Syndrome Life” blog in the hopes of sharing a father’s everyday thoughts and experiences of raising a family of five children, one with Down Syndrome. My contributions will be of the good, the bad and the ugly. Monday, November 17, 2008. To leave or not to leave, that is the question. I myself take it on a case by case basis. With that said, have you ever left a message for someone and completely muffed it up? I’ve been there and have been thankful. I’ve also been...When I'm in f...

My contributions will be of the good, the bad and the ugly. Wednesday, July 20, 2005. As I was cleaning up my hard drive on my computer this morning I came across something I wrote; my feelings put into words when I came home from the hospital after Little Peanut was delivered. Little Peanut is 15 months now. How cool that God chan...

I have created the “Down Syndrome Life” blog in the hopes of sharing a father’s everyday thoughts and experiences of raising a family of five children, one with Down Syndrome. My contributions will be of the good, the bad and the ugly. Friday, April 18, 2008. There was a time early on in my days where I could jump out of bed and greet the world with tremendous vigor. The Gardner Groove.....: May 2013
http://jodiegirl.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Welcome to our little spot on the web. Monday, May 13, 2013. Remember that time in the fourth grade when I was supposed to make an Indian village out of clay? Remember that time in the fifth grade when I had to make a book labeling all of the steps of the scientific process? Remember all the other projects you helped me with? Eighth grade Science Fair comes to mind. We worked so hard on that project and it paid off. I got one of the top five awards for our city. I was so proud. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
The Gardner Groove.....: Metal Head
http://jodiegirl.blogspot.com/2011/09/metal-head.html
Welcome to our little spot on the web. Monday, September 12, 2011. Nate likes to head butt. Hard. And it hurts. I try especially hard to not be on the receiving end. We all avoid it, if possible. Poor Em got it good the other day. I heard it hit and it hit hard. Poor little bunny. When the crying had finally ceased she said to me, "Mom, why is Nate's head made of metal? Of course it was. Only, not really.*. And she replies, "who knows. What I wonder is where he gets his metal head from." This got...Love ...

Raising Jeter, A Seeing Eye Dog
Raising Jeter, A Seeing Eye Dog. Follow the journey raising a Seeing Eye dog. Thursday, April 14, 2011. Joe calmly said, " we have a picture of Jeter and his trainer". I felt the excitement roll up me from my feet to the top of my head. I went from a stern upset woman to a gushing happy one in 0.2 seconds. "Is there a note? Yes" "What does it say, is he ok, how does he look, OMG a PICTURE! Joe laughed, that normal wonderful laugh and said "don't you want any surprise when you see it?

But then, when you have two year olds, people talk about how two isn’t bad, but whoa baby- watch out for three. I think you just need to watch out until their prefrontal cortex. About how temper tantrums work will probably make you feel better about life. 8221; (this is where they walk sideways really fast and then la...
Raising Joey – Share It
Raising Joey
April 16, 2017. Today Joey had a pretty cool milestone that meant the world to me. As a special needs mom, the littlest thing that your child can do, can be the most amazing thing ever! Especially when they participate and do things “typical” kids do. Today, Joey gave me the best Easter present ever, he actually hunted his own Easter eggs without any cues from me to pick them up or helping him! Even without tears, he actually was laughing and smiling! He did it all on his own! April had her baby! Giraffe...

RaisingJordan | Just a Mother Sharing How Autism & Mental Illness has Imapcted our Family
Just a Mother Sharing How Autism and Mental Illness has Imapcted our Family. November 3, 2014. A Time To Breathe. Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for. It feels as if an eternity has passed since I’ve been able to share good news, but for the first time in a long time things are looking better for my son. Instead of being perpetually insulted, I actually received my first apology from my son for hurting my feelings in about three years. I feel...
