Raising Sweet Pea: October 2009

http://raisingsweetpea.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 4, 2009. First Ponytail and more! S is unbelievable. She is the sweetest little girl. She smiles at everyone, wrinkles her nose and laughs at the slightest amusement, and gives the sloppiest, most affectionate kisses ever. Her eyes have slowly changed color from solid blue to blue with gold and green streaks. R and I took her to the Outer Banks, NC with R's parents for a weekend trip. It was her first trip to the ocean. She was fearless and loved the water and waves! In 2 Me See. Happy 1s...

Raising Sweet Pea: A Little Water Goes A Long Way

http://raisingsweetpea.blogspot.com/2010/05/little-water-goes-long-way.html

Thursday, May 27, 2010. A Little Water Goes A Long Way. It was muggy and 90 degrees outside when I picked S up from daycare today so I decided to take her to the park for some time under the sprinklers. What a fantastic. The first two pictures are with my Rebel, but I got tired of lugging it around so the rest are from my iPhone. Quality isn't the best but to me they are priceless pictures. Saturday, June 27, 2009. Eskimo Kisses and more. R and I just finished our first full week of residency. I'm on night float and he's on heme/onc, so suffice it to say we are working ridiculously long hours. We are making sure to have as much with with S as possible. Here are some pictures of S hanging out with her Papa, sharing an Eskimo kiss and a cuddle. Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Evening walks and kerchiefs. Here was S yesterday in her swing. I believed everything she told me, whether it was that gecko’s were the only animals that spoke or that my father was a very messed up man, and it would be a punishment for me to have him in my life. She used to threaten to send me off to him when I acted up. Is that what you want? She’d say as she stared at me with fear and concern. No, I’d mumble through my excessive tears. I want to live with you, mama. January 15, 2013. Blog at WordPress.com.

RAISING SWALLOWTAIL BUTTERFLIES

Enter the Wonderful World of Swallowtail Butterflies. A number of years ago I planted an anise plant. I enjoy herb gardening and this was just part of it. Then I noticed little "things" which I believed to be caterpillars. I watched and soon discovered that the birds enjoyed eating them. I did some research and sure enough they were black swallowtail caterpillars. More research and the help of an online friend and and I started raising swallowtails. Sunday, June 23, 2013. Raising Sweet Grace

The Incredible Truth About Easy-peasy and A Little About Me. It's funny how when you are yourself, things become easy. Not that I wasn't myself in previous posts. It was just not me I was portraying. I felt rigid and stiff and certainly not fun at all. So where do I start? Let's start with a brief introduction. How about a little about me. If you are easily offended, I am not the right girl for you. I have an uncanny tendency to leave my filter at home most of the time. I have, what I like to call, an ov...

Finding your Performance Recipe. July 20, 2015. The bottom line is that if it is critical that you do well find and follow your recipe. Recall a recent quality performance so that you can vividly remember at least 3 key moments. Then answer the questions that follow. 1 What was my mood/state/focus like for that game? 2 What was my preparation? What did I do? Was there an order? 3 What story did I tell myself about the game/ what meaning did I give it? Eg tension, then excitement, then peace on game day).

Embracing family and raising expectations. March 10, 2014. But, I have learned they like to eat, so I guess I need to add that to the calendar. I fully intend to take advantage of everything Regan learns in Foods class at school. I also encouraged our Emma to sign up to take the class next year. However, I do feel I have the responsibility to teach our children how to be able to prepare some food, so I guess we will find some time in the calendar. We are pretty free on Wednesdays. The 105lb Mastiff/Bulldog Mix. February 8, 2012. First off, please note that the Vet Letter is UP! After receiving a 2nd opinion, we’ve decided that there are many more things to take into consideration than we first thought. On March 7th, 2012, we will be meeting with an orthopedic surgeon 100 miles away to discuss Tank and Tanks issues. At that time, this surgeon will determine whether or not it’s even safe/beneficial for Tank to move forward with surgery. So there’s my/his updates! 105 to 109.5. Befor...

Raising Tasty, Healthy Chicken at Home. How-to raise chickens at home, based on our 6 years experience. July 1, 2010. June 17, 2010. These birds grow fast! Not long after we put them outside, we decided to divide them into two groups and house them in two adjacent pens, in order to give them all more room. It’s important to house the birds on fresh grass (or bedding if inside) so that they are not sitting around in their own droppings. For indoor pens, wood shavings are very absorbent. We are approaching...

Raising Taylors

Sunday, June 21, 2015. When your child isn't welcome. I haven't blogged about this for many reasons. I didn't think it bothered me that much, but I keep bringing it up now that we are looking for a church again. I didn't want the people the event occurred around to find out how upset I was. Small town life, at it's finest, I suppose. We ended up leaving the church. We stopped going altogether for awhile. Why try again? The church is at it's best when it opens its arms wide and says "Come in! We may not k...
