Rambles with a camcorder. VIDEO CLIPS OF WILDLIFE CAPTURED DURING MY WALKS IN THE COUNTRYSIDE. Friday, 13 June 2014. Juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker. I had a wonderful fifteen minutes watching and filming this juvenile GSW on my peanut feeder. It's been in and out of the garden for a couple of weeks. I set up the camcorder on a tripod at around 5.30am and left it running. An hour later I had captured about ten minutes of usable video. well worth getting up early for. Links to this post.

Chatsworth House has a wonderful cascade in the gardens. The original cascade was designed by Monsieur Grillet a French hydraulics engineer with experience in decorative waterworks for Louis XIV of France. It took two years to build and was completed in 1696. The Cascade House was built at its summit to designs by Thomas Archer.
