One story a day : Reliving childhood. Wednesday, October 22, 2014. For a Quiet Diwali. The biggest festival amongst Hindus, Diwali or Deepavali is here! Though our eight year old, ( who has always had his ear plugs on every Diwali. Was not gung-ho about the idea initially, we are on Day 1 and it’s been so far so good! Well…think about it…. One story a day : Reliving childhood: Day out with dad!

One story a day : Reliving childhood. Sunday, June 21, 2015. Day out with dad! Father's Day is meant not only to thank our own fathers but also to acknowledge the role. Of the fathers of our little ones! Though I have always been more than fair in giving dads their due on Onestoryaday, its not until now that I realised what it means for your children to have a "hands on" dad as opposed to mainly a "911" dad! While hands on daddies are a blessing for the mommies . they are a joy for the kids! Rightly put,...

One story a day : Reliving childhood. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. We the children of India. Over the weekend, we attended the third edition of Bangalore Literature Festival held at Crowne Plaza, Electronic city. Unlike the previous. We didn't have Abhay accompany us this time as there were no children's events on Day 3, the only day we could find time attend! When I read, " We the children of India". I wish this book was written when I was in school, considering I had set my heart on law very early!

One story a day : Reliving childhood. Sunday, November 30, 2014. Life is full of surprises! Just as you believe your life to be moving in a known direction, an unexpected turn of events can leave you bewildered and unsettled until you come to terms with the change! Owing to a sudden hectic turn of events on the personal front, I have been missing on the blogosphere and its now been more than a month since my last post on Onestoryaday. Described as capturing “. The freewheeling expressiveness of childhood.

One story a day : Reliving childhood. Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Congratulations to Divya - Our favourite Childrens Book! Hello all. First of all, Season's Greetings to all of you and wish you a very Happy New Year! It's a great privilege for me to write a guest post for Divya whose blog I used to follow religiously when I was new to parenting and children's literature or whether I used her blog as a reference point for setting up my children's book library! All our bonding moments revolve around books!

One story a day : Reliving childhood. Friday, July 10, 2015. Gumma Banda gumma - Guest post by Rajaram. Over the last weekend, Abhay and I went for a play at Rangashankara and were so taken in by the play that we couldn't stop talking about it! So Divya asked me to pen down a few thoughts about the play leading up to this guest post on Onestoryaday. What are children afraid of? They are afraid of nothing and yet are afraid of a lot of things. Is this a paradox? This is one of the few plays I was so engro...

One story a day : Reliving childhood. Saturday, April 18, 2015. Like every summer, Abhay spends the first half of his summer holidays at my parents' farm "Shristi" at Dharmasthala. This time however, much to his chagrin . his mother has joined him that too for the full length of his stay . which has invariably come in the way of the no-holds-barred- grandparental pampering that he used to enjoy during his stay here earlier! With almost all it's branches sprouting the juicy " Jamnerele. Dedicating this po...

One story a day : Reliving childhood. Tuesday, March 24, 2015. How and why of things! First Appeared on Parentedge. The famous children’s author John Birmingham had once said that while he was growing up, he always. Wished that there would be a "National Ask your parents day" when children could ask their parents anything! In today’s age that is everyday…isn’t it? 8230;they never seem to stop right? Well, why should they? Well… a benign opening question/statement. 8220;Amma…what is Atma? A persistent que...
