Random.acts.of.wonder. A site to remember the good things in life. What this is all about. February 14, 2013 in Uncategorized. To listen to and talk with a girlfriend till the waiters politely bring you the bill and you realise you’ve been there for four hours being fully in another person’s presence. To return home to cards with thoughts of love waiting on the bed. To watch a plant blossoming each day when leaving and each night when returning, the tender buds, flowers, leaves just coming into being.

What is it within ourselves that lets us believe, again and again that something will shift, that positive change will be possible? I have always loved the serenity prayer, because of its simplicity and its truth. moments of reflection like these call for the wisdom in those words to wash over like a river:. Random.acts.of.wonder. A site to remember the good things in life. What this is all about. February 12, 2013 in Uncategorized. This is a backposting about a wonderful community singing night i attended a few weeks ago, inspired by a mini jam i had a friend’s house yesterday. Music, and its power to connect, both within and with others is increasingly finding its way into my life, and for that, i’m grateful. Daily museum of amazement. M gerwing architects notebook. It also got me thinking about all the possible things one can do on the train, other than play with your smartphone. i’ve done all of the following before:. 2) chant a mantra of your choice inwardly to provide a point of quiet focus amidst the jostling. 5) when all else fails, people watch. for better or worse, ...

Gap Year for Eating: September 2010

http://gapyearforeating.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Gap Year for Eating. One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating. Friday, September 10, 2010. Back to Hong Kong: eating for under £3. Yes, I have made my triumphant return to Hong Kong! Dave loves his so much that he has left time at Hong Kong airport to make sure he can have a last portion before he flies back to London. Note the token broccoli to try and counter the million calories:. This was accompanied by f...

In the kitchen, we were extremely relaxed in the first two days, mainly because the kitchen was huge in comparison to what we were used to, and everything seemed to work! Also making 60 portions as opposed to 120 portions makes a big difference. Here was our bread and butter pudding effort from the first night:. This was p...

Gap Year for Eating. One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating. Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Habitat 2011 - Honduras. This year's Habitat trip brought me to Honduras in Central America. It is a little known country as I found out when I was trying to fundraise, but it has always been a destination for me as Ben, my first ever Habitat leader, raved about doing a Global Village trip there before. Here is Mariela w...

Gap Year for Eating. One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating. Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Yes, I only ever seem to blog about Habitat and Crisis, but they are inevitably the highlight of my year! Gap Year for Eating. One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating. Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Return of the refried bean. I worked with Habitat in Guatemala back in 2005, and it was the first time I went anywhere really "exotic"! We went out several times during our stay, and ate at some varied places including the local pizza joint and a Mexican place. However, it was the local place doing traditional local ...

No viva la comida :(. The other common offering in these local peso restaurants was chuleta de cerdo, basically a pork chop served with rice and beans, deep fried plaintains and salad. Random Acts of Writing

Random Acts of Writing. Saturday, January 24, 2015. 10,000 words and it feels SO good! Time for a quick celebratory blog post!
