the good, the bad, and the ugly thoughts of Jarvis

The good, the bad, and the ugly thoughts of Jarvis. Sunday, November 17, 2013. If you’ve bumped into our family in the last five months, you’ve seen a definite difference. We are now a family of four (five if you count dogs). We’ve added a second son (and this one) via adoption. If you haven’t seen us and therefore you met him, then maybe you’ve seen pictures. But, in case neither of the above is true for you. I hope you’ll read our story and rejoice with us for all that God has done in our lives. And, w...

The good, the bad, and the ugly thoughts of Jarvis. Monday, September 20, 2010. Busyness has stolen my life. I've been too dang busy to blog because i:. Work more than 40 hours a week. Have the privelege of chasing a 15 month old around when i get home from work and on weekends. Get to spend time with his mama (if i'm lucky). Have to travel for work (sometimes for the whole week). Am in the middle of reading 3 books. Have to do yard work. Have to do house work (the parts that my wife doesn't like to do).

The good, the bad, and the ugly thoughts of Jarvis. Monday, September 5, 2011. Girls have cooteys (or is it cooties? Sunday, September 4, 2011. It’s not what you think…. I have trouble being an American sometimes. I think we can be too self-sufficient and too selfish. A trip that I made to Haiti at the end of July has made it even harder for me to be comfortable. I keep thinking about the words of Jesus and looking at my life and going something’s not right here. So, what’s the confusion about here...

A glimpse through the Orlich Family window. Friday, June 26, 2015. What's cookin' round here" June 2015. The locals (and some tiny people in my family) have really enjoyed the dessert course of meals we've shared with them in our home, especially this cake. Random Japandom!

Friday, March 11, 2011. Of all the days to come to Tokyo! I arrived in Tokyo around 11:30 am yesterday after spending the past 3 months living in the mountains. Decided to come a couple days before my flight so I could check out the sights and sounds of the city! Those sites and sounds ended up being much different than I expected! I think one of my favourite parts of traveling is trying to figure out where places are and discovering random stuff along the way. Isn’t there a quote for that? It was a clea...

The other day River and I were playing a game where we both have a team of several matchbox size cars and the two teams do “battle”. Our battles include everything from simple crashing, to lasers, to gathering power and strength from absorbing star and planetary energy from parallel universes that eventually collide in the form of our two hands holding our team leaders. Was the bad guys! November 13, 2014. November 13, 2014.
