Musings of an Englishwoman. Basic Skirt Sloper Complete. I finally finished making my skirt sloper and I am so pleased with it. It’s pretty much the best fitting skirt I have ever made. It needs a tiny bit of tweaking but I am impressed at how good the fit is. I sewed it up on the vintage Singer 201K machine which I hadn’t sewn with before. It took me a while to work out how to load the bobbin but once that was sorted I was on my way. It sews really nicely. This entry was posted in Crafts. March 5, 2015.

Musings of an Englishwoman. Les Pêcheurs de Perles (The Pearl Fishers). Maybe it’s an age thing but these days I gravitate towards entertainment that touches my heart, reaches into my soul and makes me feel alive. This beautiful opera most certainly did all that. Life-enhancing stuff. The opera also had some really cool special effects: the tsunami at the end of act two and the diving for pearls which opened the performance. Very realistic.
