Something New, Something Yummy: homemade oreos
http://newandyummy.blogspot.com/2011/04/homemade-oreos.html
Something New, Something Yummy. Tuesday, April 12, 2011. The picture is really missing a tall glass of milk. This recipe isn’t original or new, but it is a really good one for Sunday afternoons. They also disappear quickly whenever I take them somewhere. Make the cookie dough about the size of a shooter marble. The cookies will be crisp right after they bake, but they soften up after a day and become like oreo cakesters. Don’t use canned frosting. It’s not half as yummy. 1 box Devil’s food Cake Mix.

Something New, Something Yummy: lighter (and not-so lighter) snickerdoodles
http://newandyummy.blogspot.com/2011/03/lighter-and-not-so-lighter.html
Something New, Something Yummy. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Lighter (and not-so lighter) snickerdoodles. Snickerdoodles are the first cookies that I remember making when I was growing up. This recipe cuts out some of the fat and thus calories that most other recipes for this cookie have. The result is a more cake-like cookies, and they didn’t spread very much, but it is still had that good cinnamony chewiness I love. Mini Snickerdoodle Cream Cheese Sandwich Cookies! Try it out, with, or without the frosting.

How to Fill A Cupcake | My Baking Addiction
http://www.mybakingaddiction.com/essentials-how-to-fill-cupcakes
Essentials: How To Fill Cupcakes. March 24, 2011. Clearly I make a lot of cupcakes; adorable, portable and always a crowd favorite, another reason to love cupcakes is that they are pretty simple to bake and decorate. I’m kind of lacking in the patience department, so it’s much easier for me to pipe frosting onto a cupcake than onto a full-size cake. I’ve also become a big fan of filling my cupcakes with a little somethin’-somethin’. Whether it’s lemon curd. Or chocolate chip cookie dough. Gently push the...

Something New, Something Yummy: well hello, dolly
http://newandyummy.blogspot.com/2011/03/well-hello-dolly.html
Something New, Something Yummy. Monday, March 21, 2011. Well hello, dolly. I made a few of my favorite cookies for Cali’s baptism. As I tested each kind I thought to myself, “This is my favorite cookie.” I came to the realization that my favorite cookie is probably whatever cookie I am putting in my mouth. This one is an easy bar cookie that goes by the name Hello Dolly Bars or 7 Layer Bars or Magic Layer bars or a few other names and with varying ingredients. It’s gooey, chewy, and scrumptious. Peach an...

Switchfoot in St. Louis | Muse and Murse
https://eandkmcg.wordpress.com/2010/02/21/switchfoot-in-st-louis
Switchfoot in St. Louis. This past Monday we headed to St. Louis to watch Switchfoot in concert. As I’ve mentioned before, we’ve been extremely excited about this for a while. And in the end, it was even better than we expected! The concert was at The Pageant. The same place we saw MuteMath. During the beginning of the first song we wondered where Jon’s voice was coming from. Then we looked behind us and lo and behold there he was! And during the last song, Jon jumped up on our table to sing again! But i...

Something New, Something Yummy: May 2011
http://newandyummy.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Something New, Something Yummy. Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Do chickens have fingers? I realized that from what recipes I usually post it may look like we eat nothing but cookies. In my dream world that would be true, but, alas, it is not real life. This is a recipe that comes from Cook This, Not That, Kitchen Survival Guide. I’m a big fan of this book series. I feel like I’m reading a horror novel when I read about restaurant entrees that have about 1500 calories. Salt and Pepper to taste. Mom used to make.

http://newandyummy.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Something New, Something Yummy. Tuesday, April 19, 2011. They may not be the prettiest cookies ever decorated, but they were decorated with love. Because there just isn’t enough sweet stuff out there at Easter already, we made some of our favorite cookies yesterday. This is just a really good recipe for:. 1 1/2 cups sugar. 3 Tblsp. sour cream. 1/2 tsp. almond or lemon extract. 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Don̵...
