I’ve studied international economics since last spring. And I am interested in helping people in developing countries. But I think a present help to them by developed country break their cultures or identities. So I want to study what real aid is. And I want to do so to the poor in this world. The Summer in MEI. Tuesday, August 08, 2006. Yesterday, we went to the Washington Post. The woman who works at the office told us what it is. I felt she was so smart and I could not be journalist. But she said that some of them had not studied about journalism. So I could be like her? And, we visited the White House. I ask some of my friends how could I go into it. Jump and you can do that! The Summer in MEI. Monday, August 14, 2006. I had a fever last Friday. But I was helped by Mr. Uchida, Hiro-kun and the King . Thank you for your kindness! On Saturday, I went to Annapolis. I was happy to see the beautiful view the city has. I like brick buildings and scenery where there are some hills. So Annapolis has become one of my favorite cities. And I went to Georgetown. This time is my first visit. I bought 2 T-shirts. This is so nice. I want to visit there again. Ps I think that. Thanks, Ji Won!

AGU in America 2006. Saturday, August 12, 2006. On Saturday, we had our field trip to Annapolis, the capital of Maryland (and former capital of the U.S., for nine months! Afterwards, we walked down Cornhill Street to the dock, where we all bought tickets for the Severn River cruise at 12:30. After buying the tickets, we had time to grab something to eat. AGU in America 2006. Sunday, August 13, 2006. Today, Sunday, was our field trip to Mount Vernon. It was another spectacular day, weather-wise: sunny and in the mid 80s with low humidity. :-) The day almost got off to a bad start because we nearly missed the boat (my fault! I misread the Dash About shuttle bus schedule), but to make a long story short, we didn't. The boat ride down the Potomac to Mount Vernon was very pretty, although the boat wasn't as nice as the one we took yesterday in Annapolis.
