Green Motherhood: Everly Ann's Birth Story Part II
http://www.thegreenmother.com/2014/01/everly-anns-birth-story-part-ii.html
Monday, January 6, 2014. Everly Ann's Birth Story Part II. I crawled into my hospital bed and laid on my left side just as instructed. I wasn't pleased with the idea of laboring in bed. But, I was less pleased with the idea of being hooked up to any drugs. I put on my headphones and my meditation track and warned everyone that I was going to block them out and to let me know if they needed me. I seriously just wanted to kind of do this on my own. This was it. I knew what she was going to say. Eventually ...

Green Motherhood: About
http://www.thegreenmother.com/p/about-meagan.html
I started this blog to keep family and friends informed of all my pregnancy progress. But now, I use it as a sort of scrapbook of our lives, and to support other moms out there! Becoming a mother was extremely overwhelming and daunting for me. It's nice to know there are other moms going through the exact same thing. We aren't perfect. We attempt to live as holistically and eco-consciously as possible, but we don't kill ourselves for it. We're definitely still trying to figure this all out!

http://www.thegreenmother.com/2014/02/my-experience-with-placenta.html
Saturday, February 15, 2014. My Experience with Placenta Encapsulation. I've learned in my old age to never say never. This lesson often comes to you as a mother because there are now little people running around your house doing everything in their power to contradict any and everything you ever thought to be enforceable. When I first heard someone tell me that they were planning on ingesting their placenta, my reaction was probably much like any one else: EWWWWW! Until I stopped breastfeeding. Enter my...

Green Motherhood: Natural Remedies for Morning Sickness
http://www.thegreenmother.com/2013/08/natural-remedies-for-morning-sickness.html
Saturday, August 3, 2013. Natural Remedies for Morning Sickness. This second pregnancy has been a doozy. I lived through morning sickness the first time. And I had somehow convinced myself that it was all in my head. I swore that I wasn't going to get as sick, I couldn't get as sick. It just couldn't happen again. And really, it didn't. Because this sickness was different. This sickness was debilitating. Don'ttalk.to.me.about.food. If I threw up, I wouldn't stop. I could barely get out of bed kind of sick.

Wednesday, June 5, 2013. The surprise that isn't really a surprise. I've been gone for so long that I almost don't know how to come back. Let's just say that on top of a lot of soul searching, a toddler refusing to nap and life in general, pregnancy has officially kicked my ass. And? I've done this before! I never would have thought it could be worse the second time around. I spent all of March sick in bed. Not able to eat or move. It was.the.pits. Will I be back for good? June 5, 2013 at 7:31 AM. I have...

Green Motherhood: The Birth Story of Everly Ann
http://www.thegreenmother.com/2013/12/the-birth-story-of-everly-ann.html
Wednesday, December 4, 2013. The Birth Story of Everly Ann. This story actually begins the night before. My midwife had just announced that I would need to be induced in the morning due to very high levels of protein in my urine. (yuck, right? She was amazing. She came and sat with us for an hour, answering any questions that we had. We found out that I was already at 3 cm dilated and about 50% effaced. It looked like this little bean wanted out sooner rather than later anyways. That meant Castor oil.

Green Motherhood: The Bottle Battle
http://www.thegreenmother.com/2014/01/the-bottle-battle.html
Wednesday, January 15, 2014. I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and as a thank you for participating. I have been incredibly blessed with the opportunity to nurse both of my babies. Despite the rough start. I need those moments to recharge. But, as I've learned, every child is different. Even if they're from the same womb. Everly is not a bottle fan. And on top of that, she really hates pacifiers. It's been...The bottles c...
