JohnsonDouglas family: June 2009
http://ncdj.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 14, 2009. I am in the process of transitioning the photo business to Vashon Island (and getting very positive response! And one of my goals is to slowly turn some of our property to an outdoor portrait park. I was talking about how great it would be to have a fun Victorian style couch to do family and children portraiture on under our old Maple trees. The outfit was her idea. Monday, June 1, 2009. Nora is always coming up with some great outfits. She is all about layering. Most of th...

JohnsonDouglas family: Beach Day
http://ncdj.blogspot.com/2009/09/beach-day.html
Wednesday, September 2, 2009. A few weeks ago we went to Third beach for our annual beach backpacking trip. Nora did great job hiking. She loves every aspect of camping and hiking. She's a great adventurer! Next year she wants to carry her own clothes and water. I think we will take her up on that. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). JohnsonDouglas family: swimming!
http://ncdj.blogspot.com/2010/02/swimming.html
Friday, February 26, 2010. Nora's been taking swim lessons for a few months and it wasn't until just recently that she finally realized that getting her face wet and holding her breath was really cool. She has made great progress in a very short amount of time. Cannon balls and the crawl stroke are now looked forward to. Here's a video from today's lesson. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). JohnsonDouglas family: November 2008
http://ncdj.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 18, 2008. Every Wednesday after school, Nora brings home 3 of her good friends to play for the afternoon. I pick them up at noon and we pile into my friend Jennifer's EuroVan (I can't fit more than 2 kids in my car so we switch for the day) and we always take the "curly" road home. God help me if I don't take the curly road! Every toy, stuffed animal, book and bed linen was in the middle of the floor and all four hoodlums were half naked and jumping on the bed. Friday, October 24, 2008. Nora has always liked the moon, and when she came upstairs to wake me up this morning ( at 6.30! Her first words out of her mouth was "I saw the moon when I was coming up! She then went into a rambling train of thought:. Nora: "I can go to the moon, but I have to have a parachute, and maybe we can build some stairs to get up, and you can come too, Mama, but you need a parachute to get down, I really want to go to the moon.". Me: "Someday you just might, sweetie".

Wednesday, September 2, 2009. For Father's Day, my friend Michael took some pictures of Nora and me for Andy. I loved Nora's faces. Priceless. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). JohnsonDouglas family: July 2009
http://ncdj.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 6, 2009. Nora's latest outfit. Showcasing a new toothbrush from the dentist. 4th of July this year was lots of fun. Andy slaughtered his first pig the day before for a pig roast on the 4th. It went really well. He even had the required blood sacrifice when he stabbed himself in the forearm with a rusty hay hook. We think the pig was extra good because of it. A few stitches and a tetnus shot.all is well. I think the pig on a spit will be an annual tradition. Labels: 4th of july.

JohnsonDouglas family: December 2008
http://ncdj.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 14, 2008. Last night we were expecting some cold weather and as we were putting Nora to bed we told her to dream of snow. Lucky us.It snowed! We got only about 2 inches, but it was enough to make snow angels. My car battery died due to the cold snap, so Nora and I were stuck at home. It turned out to be a really nice day. We played outside for a while, came in for hot coco and made gingerbread. Thursday, December 11, 2008. Joy to the World. Last weekend we braved the cold and went Christ...

Thursday, July 31, 2008. This year marks my 20th high school reunion (EeeGaads! So Nora and I traveled to St. Louis this month and spent about 2 weeks with my family. The reunion was fun, but it was a little surreal being with all those people again. We all looked so old! Compared to the 18year olds we all still felt like). My sister and her family live nearby and Nora loved being able to play with her "St. Louis cousins". Andy couldn't make it due to that pesky thing called a work schedule.

JohnsonDouglas family: Fall is coming!
http://ncdj.blogspot.com/2009/09/fall-is-coming.html
Monday, September 28, 2009. A couple of weeks ago Nora and I spent one of the last really warm days at the beach. I could tell that the angle of the sun was already starting it's turn to winter. But the air was warm. We enjoyed burying our toes in the sand, log climbing and general beach frolicing. I spent the day today harvesting that last of our summer crops. Tomatoes, corn, squash and onions. I think we will be set for the next few months! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
