July 30, 2007. The blinding That Luang in the late afternoon sun. The moon over the Mekong. The monks were beating the drums in the temples all around That Luang, sort of like the surround sound call to prayer of Bangladesh. May 25, 2007. I have garlic in my ear, cats crawling into my 4th story flat, and my own personal nurse giving me sponge baths. By Thursday I was feeling well enough to go to the office for a few hours, though I was a bit weak.
