Monday, August 11, 2008. No recipe today, but I want to share a little twist we tried tonight on THIS. Recipe I posted a few weeks back. In lieu of ground beef, I used ground bison meat. It was delicious! My grandma in Kansas used to tell me about making bison burgers and I just dismissed it as weird, but actually, it's a very healthy meat and is very comparable to beef (but better! Between the mad-cow scares and seeing KING CORN. You should look up bison meat or check out this little seller's website.

Tuesday, July 22, 2008. My grandma has been making this for me for years and I still request it every time I visit (though she has sadly outsourced to the local grocery store deli). This is very fun to make for/with kids, but rivals cake and ice cream in sugar content. Save it as a special treat and keep a dose of insulin close by. 2/3 c pineapple juice (reserve juice from cans below). 1 egg, beaten. 1 tsp lemon juice. 1 c Acini Di Pepe (small pasta, looks like beads). 1 carton Cool Whip.
