Anglican + Calvinist: February 2006

Are you a "real man"? Sunday, February 19, 2006. Two questions: why is it so cold in here and why are we singing African-American spirituals seeing that everyone is English? The following was my evening here in Oxford, an interesting combination of things you may or may not find on the other side of the pond. 1 Riding a bike in the rain. 2 Old English Parish Church. 3 African-American Spirituals in an English Church? Cut back to Shamrock: "Tito Ortiz is going to find out who Ken Shamrock is, was, and is now." The "is now" in that sentence wasn't really a redundancy. Shamrock was employing a new tense the ultimate tense to describe how he was about to be bringing it, how it was about to have been brung. Tuesday, May 31, 2005. We'll fight to the death about gay marriage. But when it comes to corporations, we know whose side the Supreme Court is on. Posted by CharlesPeirce @ 10:30 AM. Tuesday, May 24, 2005. It follows f...

Was difficult to take. But if [the people who oppose Ratzinger] do not believe in hell, what are they worried about? What are they whining about? I bought a Honda C...

Poetry and Scotch: September 2005

It's like Mardi Gras meets the bombing of Dresden. Monday, September 26, 2005. The Merits of a Steak and Jam Sandwich. Blogger has been pissing me off today. It won’t let me post pictures, and it has deleted two posts I’ve attempted to put up already today. But, I’m at work and have nothing else to do so I’m trying again. (and yes, I’ve heard the definition of insanity). I really tried to be late to work today. A quick question on the my favorite topic- the Iraq war. Excluding utilitarian claims on the l...

The Christian Kantianist: February 2006
http://christiankantianist.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
I love to rant. Thursday, February 23, 2006. I just got back last night from Washington, D.C. I was interviewing for a position with the premier public policy think tank in the country, and they have informed me that they are going to offer me the job. My primary areas will be education issues as well as family and welfare issues. I'll start June 1st (roughly 10 days after graduation). As I prepare for this job, expect a lot of posts on school choice, vouchers, etc. Posted by Barnabas18 @ 10:18 AM.

I love to rant. Friday, January 20, 2006. That is, is the use of contraceptives consistent with biblical values or not? At this point, let me state that I believe life begins at conception, so I obviously do not condone the use of any types of contraception that would abort what has already been conceived. Anything from a morning after pill to an abortion would clearly be wrong. But, this doesn't answer the simple question of whether using standard contraceptive devices is right or wrong. 3 I was hoping ...

Standing Out in the Cold: January 2007

Standing Out in the Cold. Tuesday, January 16, 2007. Congressmen as Presidential Candidates. Get off my back, I'm busy these days. In the history of the U.S. 15 senators have become president. Only two - Harding and Truman - moved straight from the senate to the White House. And JFK is the only other to do it with less than 2 years between. Here's the link. Here are some interesting facts:. 4 presidents held only the office of representative. 6 presidents held none of these offices. The office of senator.

Standing Out in the Cold: Lots of Money
http://standingoutinthecold.blogspot.com/2007/04/lots-of-money.html
Standing Out in the Cold. Monday, April 02, 2007. Whoa, am I posting again? I just have a quick question: what would happen if a presidential candidate donated their tens of millions of dollars. To feeding hungry children, or curing AIDS, or developing alternative fuel sources even, rather than spending it on campainging? Or would it just spell the end of their hopes in this whoever-spends-the-most-money-wins political system we have today? I'm pretty sure it would constitute fraud. Variations of a Theme.

Standing Out in the Cold: If you consider how many hours they actually work -- for us -- how much do they make per hour?

Standing Out in the Cold. Thursday, April 19, 2007. If you consider how many hours they actually work - for us - how much do they make per hour? Is priceless. But don't get me wrong, this isn't about Democrats or Republicans - I am confident that most people on both sides of the aisle are the exact same. What this is about is how horrific our lawmakers are these days. This goes right alongside the " Series of Tubes. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Variations of a Theme. This Place is a Prison.
