The Intrepid Piscator: Treasure From the Coast & Presents by Post
http://theintrepidpiscator.blogspot.com/2010/05/treasure-from-coast-presents-by-post.html
Tuesday, 11 May 2010. Treasure From the Coast and Presents by Post. Off to potter then, in Lathams of Potter Higham (apparently pronounced Pot 'a' Ham).I always look, never buy. Having received my angling quota for the weekend we happened upon a sign directing us to an antique and bric-a-brac shop. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an eccentric looking gentleman, surrounded my countless loudly ticking and irregularly chiming clocks, the usual worthless ornaments and coastal ephemera. 11 May 2010 at 21:06.

The Intrepid Piscator: Citronella Nights
http://theintrepidpiscator.blogspot.com/2015/06/citronella-nights_26.html
Friday, 26 June 2015. With my newly re-connected fishing head firmly back on I pass through the clanky gate to the inviting green sanctuary that is Ouse. The undergrowth seems to have grabbed and kept the days sun and I stroll headstrong through it's thermal pockets. This evening I do consider my options, the entire beat is mine. Passing every pool and glide, weighing one's options as the blood sucking insects case me out. I arrived at this swim choice because the area downstream is gravelly and has lots...

The Intrepid Piscator: January 2015
http://theintrepidpiscator.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, 30 January 2015. It's been just over a year, a busy year, a 'not much in the way of fishing' year. I've moved house, have a new job and we've planned a wedding. I'm amazed at how popular this site has remained and I thank you for your messages, most of which were telling me to get my arse back in to gear! Well I'm back., and though this will be an even busier year, I'm determined not just to angle more, but to write more. Let me tell you about a fish I caught back in August. On arrival I heard fr...

The Intrepid Piscator: July 2015
http://theintrepidpiscator.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, 23 July 2015. Disorganised days drift into the chaos of traffic, and so follows the haphazard loading of tackle. About an hours drive away lies the low flowing sinuous abode of gold. Through humid field and o'er five bar gate, I go to prospect. The chatter of the magpie, shrill call of the 'fisher welcome, as the mallards argue. The grass moist, seeps, as the evening sun begins to fade. No, not here.onwards to the grasping, rasping snags and depth, today. On the opposite bank, murderous squeali...

The Intrepid Piscator: Back Amongst It.
http://theintrepidpiscator.blogspot.com/2015/06/back-amongst-it.html
Friday, 19 June 2015. It's always there, it's a calling. The Great Ouse, sometimes I forget that I miss it, but yes, I'm always conscious that it's flowing mass somehow has this impact upon me. It's not called 'Great' without reason. I curse myself for letting life get in the way, but sometimes it must. Treading pathways, newly formed by the excited river angler, I stroll, focussed. Inevitably, I'm in a swim that has been kind in the past. These days you take what you can on the Ouse. After a spirited in...

The Intrepid Piscator: A Pause For Reflection, and a New Adventure.
http://theintrepidpiscator.blogspot.com/2014/01/a-pause-for-reflection-and-new-adventure.html
Wednesday, 1 January 2014. A Pause For Reflection, and a New Adventure. It's time to sit awhile behind the long fallen tree, with baited hook.and ponder. Ponder the flow before me and gaze downstream at the distant bend in the river. At the point where I rest the river flows steady. There are of course, seasonal differences, but it's path is predictable and unwinding. 1 January 2014 at 10:09. The anglers prayer :o). 1 January 2014 at 17:52. Nice post to start the new year. 11 January 2014 at 21:29. With ...
