Reflections from Buffalo Creek

Reflections from Buffalo Creek. Sunday, July 26, 2015. Notice he is swallowing a drop of nectar. Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Sometimes, God gives me a photo, totally unexpectedly, that speaks to me. I thought I'd share it. Perhaps it will speak to you. With hustle and bustle this wise banty hen. Keeps her brood in tow. Teaching them lessons they need to know. To thrive in a chicken world. Under and around her feet all day. They watch her every move. Listening for her gentle clucks. A proper chicken does.

Reflections from Buffalo Creek: September 2014

http://www.reflectionsfrombuffalocreek.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Reflections from Buffalo Creek. Thursday, September 4, 2014. Maggie's fingers curled more tightly around the steering wheel as her car bumped along the dirt road. What a stupid pilgrimage this is! Do you ever stop missing your Mom? Maggie wondered. Subconsciously she rubbed her cheek as she remembered her mother's tears the day Maggie left home. Not that she wanted to leave. Why must I go back? Well, isn't that appropriate? You're 18 years old now. Get out of my house and don't come back! She almost chuc...

Reflections from Buffalo Creek. Saturday, March 9, 2013. Yesterday and every day before. She waited for me to come. Today, no one waits. My soul retreats like sap. In dormant trees of winter. Do they feel the whipping wind? The chill of draping snow? The heaviness of the dark? They're telling me to rest. In hope of spring to be. When winter's work is done. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Reflections from Buffalo Creek. Friday, June 6, 2014. Ode to the Lady Slipper. Fair lady slipper, comely woodland queen. Perfection marks your beauty, rarely seen. By man who crams his life with work to the brink. But some will search to see your winsome face. What joy to find the object of their quest. Attired in frocks with stripes of pink on pink. That glisten in the morning sun that peeks. Into your hiding place beneath the trees. A call to dance comes from a gentle breeze. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Reflections from Buffalo Creek: April 2014

http://www.reflectionsfrombuffalocreek.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Reflections from Buffalo Creek. Friday, April 25, 2014. In cold and silent winter,. Flowers die, leaves decay. Like dreams of yesterday. Are the trees struck with panic. As they tremble in the wind. Fearing no return of spring. Growing old, or losing sap? Or do they rest in hope. Of seasons yet to come,. Of summer's wounds to heal,. Content to garner strength. Till winter's work is done. When time was full, spring returned. So healing came, I know not how. While carried by the Shepherd. My heart can hear.

Fadley Living: July 2012

http://fadleyliving.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 13, 2012. My diy gazing ball project began with this. Finding a broken mirror, however, proved to be a challenge in itself! Nippers designed for nipping glass. The nipper, an earlier addition to my tool box, was a most necessary tool for the project. It resides in the landscape among the flowers. All in all it was a fun first time learning experience. Thursday, July 5, 2012. Were numerous displays all around. With drought conditions the past two years, there. I think I need to study night ti...

Fadley Living: My zinnia experience

http://fadleyliving.blogspot.com/2012/09/my-zinnia-experience.html

Tuesday, September 4, 2012. A must repeat again this year experience. But I goofed! It was a crazy mild winter, and early spring. Over taken with spring fever, I made the mistake of setting them out too soon. :( .there were only two survivors, plus a volunteer from last year. I resolved to be content with the three plants. They turned out be a very rich vibrant red. Beautiful to behold at all stages of development. And a great long lasting cut flower to be enjoyed indoors. October 10, 2012 at 4:36 PM.

Sunday, August 26, 2012. Recent outing to wonderful West Virginia. I like country road outings! Roads that wind, and twist about,.and I especially like to travel on mountain roads. Recently, Daryl and I enjoyed such an outing to Black Water Falls, and Seneca Rocks in West Virginia. A close up view of the black foamy water. Getting to the falls from the parking lot was quite easy.venturing off the trail strongly discouraged. I also enjoyed viewing the Joe-Pye-Weed in bloom at the time of our outing. God b...

Fadley Living: February 2012

http://fadleyliving.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 25, 2012. We are a month away from spring, but due to a mild winter and warm sunny days of late, my daffodils are starting to bloom. It's too early for daffodils! In my opinion, the only way to enjoy daffodils in February is to bring them indoors as they open up. The day after I brought these daffodils indoors, the temperature dropped, the wind blew, and snow flew about. All in all, I am enjoying the experience, and will probably try this again. Fadley Living: June 2011

http://fadleyliving.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 14, 2011. My rainbow photography venture. After Saturday evening's thunderstorm, a beautiful brilliant full rainbow appeared in the eastern sky. Viewing it from the west side of our house, it was like an arch framing our home. It was absolutely beautiful! Of course my first thought was to get out my camera and try my photography skills. I wanted so bad to capture the full rainbow with our house in the center in one photo. Try as I might with different settings, it was not to be.

Many of you know I was in Nashville a couple of weeks ago for the American Christian Fiction Writers’ Conference. The venue was the Omni Hotel, which is down town.
