Reluctantly Adultish: February 2015

http://reluctantlyadultish.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

PhD student life, fat fashion, and the occasional feminist rant. Saturday, February 28, 2015. I've been participating in a fitness challenge through the website Fit Fatties. I signed up for a double decathlon, which means I have to do 20 events. It's a lot! But I've been looking for a reason to be more active and it's a fun motivator. Posted by Liza Kate. Health at every size. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Has read 16 books toward her goal of 45 books. 16 of 45 (35%). 16 of 40 (40%). Seitan is My Motor.

Reluctantly Adultish: April 2014

http://reluctantlyadultish.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

PhD student life, fat fashion, and the occasional feminist rant. Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Tuesday Tunes: Beyoncé - "Grown Woman. Beyoncé - Grown Woman. Posted by Liza Kate. Monday, April 28, 2014. From the Archive: Price discrimination is never OK (an open letter to JC Penney). From the Archive" is a series of posts that I wrote on past, no-longer-updated blogs that I feel are good enough to need a new home. This post was originally written in February 2011. This is not OK. Especially in this case. ...

Reluctantly Adultish: Gardening on a Shady Balcony

http://reluctantlyadultish.blogspot.com/2015/05/gardening-on-shady-balcony.html

PhD student life, fat fashion, and the occasional feminist rant. Saturday, May 16, 2015. Gardening on a Shady Balcony. Today I went to the farmers' market. That in itself is not a remarkable feat. However, I'm pretty excited about what I got. I was afraid that it wouldn't even be open because today was the Brooklyn Half Marathon, which goes all through Prospect Park, including around Grand Army Plaza, where the market is. But it was! I think someone figured out I was planting catnip. Posted by Liza Kate.

Reluctantly Adultish: Requiem for a Very Good Dog

http://reluctantlyadultish.blogspot.com/2015/08/requiem-for-very-good-dog.html

PhD student life, fat fashion, and the occasional feminist rant. Thursday, August 13, 2015. Requiem for a Very Good Dog. Zelda left us in April. It was April 3, to be precise. Her kidneys had deteriorated beyond repair and she was suffering. It was clear that it was time to say goodbye. She was only 8 and a half. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but it was the right thing to do. I nursed her through a bout with kennel cough (props to my mom for helping a LOT with that). I took her to Pet...

Reluctantly Adultish: I'm Not the Woman at the Ballgame, But I Could Be

http://reluctantlyadultish.blogspot.com/2015/05/im-not-woman-at-ballgame-but-i-could-be.html

PhD student life, fat fashion, and the occasional feminist rant. Saturday, May 9, 2015. I'm Not the Woman at the Ballgame, But I Could Be. Recently, a hateful, fat-shaming photo surfaced on the internet. OK, I'm going to have to be more specific. This woman has been victimized and had her image used without consent not once, but twice now. As far as I know, she has not come forward or said anything, nor does she have any obligation to. I'm fat. Not curvy, chubby, plump, fluffy, or corpulent. Fat. I don't...

Professionalism and Oppression – Liza Eckert

http://www.lizaeckert.com/2015/04/professionalism-and-oppression

April 22, 2015. Persephone Magazine, April 22, 2015. Early in the life of my blog. I was trying to focus on being adultish which included some fashion and lifestyle tips and musings that reflected on acting more mature and professional. But lately, I’ve been wondering, what does that even mean? At some point not too long ago, I was introduced to a site called Dress Profesh. This post originally appeared on my blog, Reluctantly Adultish. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

reluctantly in a sentence | simple examples

In A Sentence .org. The best little site that helps you understand word usage with examples. Reluctantly in a sentence. I use the term reluctantly but truly - it is rebellion! Rebellion against the noblest government man ever framed for his own benefit and for the benefit of the world. As much as the word reluctantly rubs me the wrong way, I still havent heard this: Sorry. He looked puzzled, wary, at this apparent change of topic, but he said, drawing out the word reluctantly, Yes. Popular Words This Week.

Reluctantly Bionic

Friday, February 1, 2013. Happy Anniversary to me! So I guess it's a time for self assessment. How did I cope during the last year, and what do I want to accomplish during the next year? Here I am, scars and all! Sometimes every 5000 years or so, it's a good idea to take stock of what you've accomplished and what you still want to achieve. And if you're wondering what to give me for Hip Day, I think a big Hip Hip Hooray will suffice! Monday, December 31, 2012. Why did I say that? If you had a little plan...

Before I turn 30…. Save the Cookbooks Project. A Year of Dinners: March. April 17, 2012, 7:25 pm. Chicken noodle soup, two ways. April 17, 2012, 2:45 pm. My February dinner recap. Alluded to two different chicken noodle soups, both of which start very similarly – a whole chicken in a big pot of water – but aside from their beginnings and the fact that both soups have noodles, the two couldn’t be more different.
