Barry lost his life on Friday 29/May/2009 following a freak work accident that happened on Wednesday 27/May/2009. He died from a head injury. Barry's home is in Skehana, Peterswell, Co. Galway. He was 25 years old at the time. He was an electrician. He loved hurling and farming. Barry played senior hurling for St. Thomas'. He played midfield at no 9 in the 2009 championship. His last game for the club was against Kinvara on Tuesday, 26th May 2009. Barry's organs were donated for transplantation.
