Lee's daily record of things on the boat. Laquo; Bay sail. 7/11/15. A bay sail trying to go a little further than normal. Doug, Rob, Peggy, Rachel, Gunnar and I onboard. We went out the Golden Gate and sailed upwind to the west for a few hours then returned. Wind was high from 20-30 kts by my recollection and we sailed under double reefed main and inner forestay sail for the upwind leg. I don’t specifically recall the downwind leg. Other sea service day. All Hands On Deck. Adventures on land and at sea. How this all started. A nice sail from Grand Manan to Saint John. We went “over the falls” yesterday evening without a problem. The timing has to be right for the balance of tides and the river’s flow to eliminate the otherwise boiling falls. I don’t really understand it but I’m glad the water was flat when we passed through. I can’t believe it’s almost time to head back down the coast! Hopefully we can hit up some of the spots we missed on or way up.
