Monday, October 24, 2011. The main take-away from running my first ultra. Is this: PERSPECTIVE - the application of which is spread across racing, training, effort, mental toughness, injury and life in general. Effort - it is difficult to run long and far, no way around it. Both physically and mentally. Ok everyone, happy ultra running. I know you can do it. I'm the surly looking one on the right. Thursday, April 25, 2013. Is it spring yet? Finally, towards the end of last week we started to see some sun, warmer overnight temps, and some legitimate melting! 7:01, 40.89, 2505'. Day2: doubled up with am run and pm pub run. Day4: convinced myself in the am that I would run in the evening and slept in. the run didn't happen that day. My Experiences with Running. Saturday, October 13, 2012. Running this week was pretty good. Tue: 7-miler, Thur: 10-miler, Sat: 12-miler. Elliptical (16 miles total) and yoga (4 days) on the other days. Short run on the powerline today (Sat). We ran into ice, moose, nordic teams on a training run, and SNOW! Wednesday, March 19, 2014. So when last I left off I had been building towards the Resurrection Pass 100. And was two weeks out, getting ready for my last long run before the taper, the Crow Pass Crossing. Any decision to DNF brings with it regret and questions, but I have to believe that I made the right decision and move forward.
