Currently running on You Tube is a challenge to show your armies, so accepting the challenge, I offered my 6mm American Civil War armies, the only complete armies I have with me at the moment. So whilst the video is loading up, I thought I would add these photographs to my blog. A little closer look at the zouaves. Confederate mounted...

Pikeman's Lament - Battle Report - Part One. The two majors chose which units they would join, displacing one member of that unit to keep the numbers correct. Royalist Major Trimble joined his own Pike, whilst the Parliamentary commander chose to join 2nd Troop, Okey's Dragoons. In the centre, Trimble's Shot and Pike, as well as Barker's...

As a new year dawns, thoughts turn to what we would like to achieve this year. For the hobby, my goals are clear, start to work through the 10 mm Napoleonics I currently have, as well as the 28 mm 'Liberty or Death' box set. I have managed to complete all of my 6 mm ACW project in 2016. Labels: 10 mm Napoleonic.

28mm Miniature Soldier Journey plus anything else that takes my fancy. Model Soldiers, Table Top Battles, Campaigns and N Gauge Model Railways. Wednesday, 14 December 2016. OHW - Pike and Shot rules, AAR. I simply took the artillery stats from the Horse and Musket period and replaced one of the cavalry classifications, combining the the two cavalry into one classification, so they are both trotters and gallopers. It worked out just fine. The right flank had one each of horse, clansmen and infantry. The C...

First Battle with the Lion Rampant rules - Part Two - The Outcome. The Yorkist archers failed to rally and automatically lose another figure, this represents men who have had enough and quietly slip away from the battlefield. Smashing into them, there are no flanks, rear or front in this game, so no bonus for a flank attack. The spear...

Platoon Fire: Raising the Dead
http://platoonfire.blogspot.com/2015/08/raising-dead.html
Sunday, 2 August 2015. I've been meaning to get an Undead force for a while. Could never find a Necromancer that I liked though. And it had to be a Necromancer, of course. Because of Nicol Williamson. And then I heard about Frostgave. Went to Northstar to have a look. And there found I my Necromancer! So I ordered a box of the Wargames Factory Skellies (had my eye on those for a while! And to the painting table we went! Sirius Dictian, and his apprentice Gunther Tripe, commanding his Undead horde. And th...

Platoon Fire: June 2015
http://platoonfire.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 2 June 2015. Well A dragon anyway. Picked him up at the local Wilko's for about £1.50 . With the flash removed (mostly) and a bit of paint he scrubs up well. I've also finished off the 5 plastic troopers from Em4. They scrub up pretty well too, and though the detail is a little soft in places I think they're not bad for 51p each! This weeks game was, as predicted, Ghurkas V Bersaglieri, 2000points, Free for all. Ak47 Republic next time I believe. nice one. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
