Hey my name is Blake and this is my blog. Feel free to critique/comment on whatever you like i'm open to any suggestions. I really like shading and prisma color, its definately my strong point i think, or just sketching in general. Friday, March 20, 2009. This one is called Defiance. That's what the letters spell, so i thought it would be an appropriate title. This is done with acrylic paint. I don't normally like using paint so it didn't turn out too hot. My concentration will be focused on color harmony in divided compositions. Monday, February 23. If She's Not Wearing Any Clothes, She's Naked'. This is the final version of this piece (I think.). I feel like it needs some green in there- but that could ruin it too. What do you think? Its a very interesting design, but I like it how it is and do not think it needs any green. I think this a pretty good altered book. This summer I am doing lots of traveling so the idea of a map with the pins worked good I think. Then I included postcards of the places I am going. Check my stuff out! Tuesday, February 17, 2009. I did this piece in Art 2 it is one of my favorites. Its a collage of a world issue that's going on now. I choose to do poverty. The picture is of a man sitting on the streets trying to get spare change with his cart and bags beside him. I really liked this piece i think i could have worked harder on it but it turned out pretty good i thought. I chose to draw soccer balls because soccer is my life and it kind of symbolizes that. I didn't know what i was goin to do at first but I liked my altered book page that looked like this so I used it to create this piece. I stained the wood and made it look like a cross in the midle. This peice is very special to me because it has pictures of my brother on it and the picture in the crease of the pages is a picture of one of his shirts. I think this page turned out pretty good. I love softball so I made a softball piece. The sillhouette looks good with the stats n the background. The softball turned out good with the bible verse behind it representing wind. The glove was hard but the pocket of the glove is more stats that are colored to look more like a glove. Wednesday, May 20, 2009.
