What Kate-Em did next.: July 2014
http://whatkate-emdidnext.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 23 July 2014. Seven snaps for seven days - twenty nine. Oops, bit late with this one for last week. Pinned to the sofa by the dog. Good job I had a book to hand! A walk and a cuppa and some table banging with my sister and my niece. The view from the shelter in the park where we ate the second half of our rained off picnic! Amused by the blow up swans bobbing around attached to this boat on the canal. I enjoy looking at the budgie graffiti on this old mill every time I go past it. Had a lovely...

What Kate-Em did next.: February 2015
http://whatkate-emdidnext.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, 21 February 2015. And I realised - snood day! The perfect solution to a less than perfect hair day! I intend to learn to crochet so that I can make my own snoods but to tide me over until that day I have a couple that I bought from a seller on Ebay. This one is emerald green. Please excuse the not great photo quality, they are all taken on my camera phone as I didn't have my camera to hand. So, snoods - the way forward for those who want those extra precious minutes asleep! My parents and my si...

Tuesday, 28 April 2015. Vintage gloves and a free pattern. In the past few weeks I have read a couple of great posts on vintage gloves. Jessica at Chronically Vintage is a frequent glove wearer, matching them with her fantastic outfits and looking super stylish. She wrote this fab post. On the etiquette of glove wearing which is really useful if you want to find out more about the types of gloves that go with different outfits. Then over at Retro Rover Kate wrote a lovely post. I love this outfit! This 1...

Nearly Abigail’s Party Dress. I love dresses but don’t get out so much these days and have been trying to focus more on tops and other simple everyday clothes. However, I bought some gorgeous abstract floral fabric from a local shop, Ribbon Circus. In Hebden Bridge, and knew it would look great made up into this dress pattern, Simplicity 7012 from 1967. Plus I thought it was time to tackle another Vintage Pledge. Sewists, I set to work. After tacking the whole thing together to check the fit, I got a bit...

Ooh Lala... It's Bollywood!: Reena's Journal
http://zoobinsurtykarmadance.blogspot.com/2013/06/reenas-journal.html
Be a Bollywood Star'. On gut instinct I signed up to audition. Urgh! I despised the word 'audition' - it conjured up that audition scene from Flashdance. four stern judges. judging. and being all, well, judgemental! Lol, the thought made me sick to my stomach. I was nervous, panicked and admittedly scared of embarrassing myself on the day. I had gained weight since I last danced - who would take me seriously? The one thing I failed to think about was what would happen if I actually enjoyed.

Ooh Lala... It's Bollywood!: Oriel's Journal

The performance is getting closer but we have become dancers, community dancers… the error count gets less but now we need to focus on the artistic impression and what we are still not very good at- smiling amid all the intense concentration! It gives me a good view of the overall shape of the dance but, even after all my lurking at the back throughout auditions and rehearsals - while Zoobin was pointing out there is no hiding place on the Playhouse stage- I regret it a little bit now…. 8217; The main th...
