Road to Addis: Who Would Have Known?
http://roadtoaddis.blogspot.com/2011/07/who-would-have-known.html
The journey of a family to bring home not one, but two little girls from Ethiopia. Friday, July 15, 2011. Who Would Have Known? I can, for some reason, spend quite a lot of time in Target. I do not feel the same way about Walmart. But yesterday, a new and fascinating shopping experience came my way: Walgreens. Who knew they had organic face wash, body lotion and acne scrub? 2 of them were marked down from $9.99 to $2.59. I bought them both. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
Road to Addis: December 2010
http://roadtoaddis.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
The journey of a family to bring home not one, but two little girls from Ethiopia. Tuesday, December 21, 2010. We have a Christmas tradition that I think is a good idea though it admittedly can make me crabby when all is said and done. After Halloween, the kids each have to earn money that is used solely for sibling Christmas presents. That sounds great until one realizes 2 things: quite a few worthwhile jobs need to be created and once the money is earned, quite a few things need to be purchased. I thin...

The journey of a family to bring home not one, but two little girls from Ethiopia. Thursday, May 27, 2010. Levi and I were cleaning out the hamster cage. The hamsters were happily rolling around in dirty plastic hamster balls. Lizzie noticed. Here, Levi," she said. We turned around. She was holding both hamster/hamster balls, one in each hand. Oh, Lizzie. We don't need them yet," I say in my Sweet Teaching Toddler Voice. "You can go put them back in the hallway.". 3 seconds later: THUNK! I know. But ...

The journey of a family to bring home not one, but two little girls from Ethiopia. Tuesday, August 31, 2010. We did our first whole day of school yesterday, which meant that by 10:30 am I was completely run over. The "how do I do this? What does this mean? Which notebook do I use? Should I be done or do more? My eyebrows are still above my eye sockets. Everyone got school done earlier than usual. I could remember who was learning what. Sunday, August 22, 2010. Monday, August 16, 2010. 1 I helped Emma get...

The journey of a family to bring home not one, but two little girls from Ethiopia. Monday, September 5, 2011. Our friends' livingroom was full of people. The kitchen island was full of mostly untouched snacks. There was a hospital bed for Victor up against the wall. And what do you do in this situation? It's Monday and he's still alive, but the latest update said his lips are turning blue. Saturday, September 3, 2011. I learned this one day at Starbucks. Zeke and Liz were splitting the rest of someon...

Road to adopt
A long road less travelled. But one that is worth the wait. Monday, May 2, 2011. I am in a very bad place right now. I decided to not blog about this donor egg cycle, hoping I would be able to come back here in about 8 weeks to let you in on my little secret that I finally made it to the other side and was pregnant with twins. That's supposed to work. Of course I called the doctor right away. To hear it personally from the doctor: My body once again has killed three potential children. I feel lik...It se...
The Unpaved Road To Adoption
Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Never mind that we have paid 5 figures already for our adoption. We met our contractual obligations and paid the large amounts on time and in full. Are ya kidding me? Speaking of bending over…. I lived through the procedure and for my peers; it’s not that bad - really. The doc is working on my plumbing and I should be better soon (You can relax, I won’t blog about it anymore). The next day my daughter was back at Mommy and Me class and the moms were back i...Get her undressed...
