Industry Exercises 1
http://robbowlesraveaniyr2industryexercises1.blogspot.com/2011/01/heres-my-texture-for-low-poly-model-its.html
Animation Year 2 - Industry Exercises 1. Monday, 10 January 2011. Here's my texture for the low-poly model:. It's messy, but ok for the distance that the low poly model will be seen at. The actual texture will be much lower resolution of course (as it's got to be 256 by 256 pixels). Which will make it this small:. EDIT: I've now improved teh texture slightly, and have posted the updated version later in this blog. Turns out I did already use "rolling stock" as a title. oh well.). Blog / Pages / Projects.

Working name for it is 'The Desert Train'. The poly count for this model was 500. Industry Exercises 1: How've UV been?
http://robbowlesraveaniyr2industryexercises1.blogspot.com/2011/01/howve-uv-been.html
Animation Year 2 - Industry Exercises 1. Monday, 10 January 2011. My low-poly UV unwrap, b4 I textured over it. If I did this again, I would layer the 6 identical wheel meshes over each other, as the texture for them is identical, and this would give me more space for detail across the rest of the texture. Digital Environments: Get off ah my land!
http://robbowlesraveaniyr2digienvironments.blogspot.com/2011/01/get-off-ah-my-land.html
Animation Year 2 - Digital Environments. Wednesday, 12 January 2011. Get off ah my land! This is probably the model that I was most proud of from this project. Modelling it was a bit of a challenge and I think that made it more fun. It took me about 3 - 4 hours to complete from start to finish, and I really enjoyed doing it. The texture on the barrel is a bit warped however because I hadn't UV mapped it at this point, I was just happy I'd finished it and then went to bed :P. Blog / Pages / Projects.

Animation Year 2 - Digital Environments. Wednesday, 12 January 2011. Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? Final piece is now up on YouTube. :). The end of an era. Overall I think the project went well. I enjoyed all the modelling that I did, and over the course of this project and the Industry Exercises one, I have learned a basic understanding and technical know-how of UV mapping. I also enjoyed the editing/post processing parts of the project, so will push to do more of that in future projects. So for the sak...
