MISCELLANEOUS RAMBLINGS OF A SLOW POKE. Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible.". Monday, April 28, 2008. Nice job all you smarties that figured it out and to all the resourceful bloggers that figured it easier just to read the preceding comments ;). Several of the team members from American Odyssey pointed out that it could make a great team name! Dang, you guys are thinking! 8230;….it didn’t! I am proud to say I had many NSV’s ...

MISCELLANEOUS RAMBLINGS OF A SLOW POKE. Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible.". Tuesday, July 22, 2008. I'm heading out again today this time to North Carolina for business and a few days of exercise. Not sure how I am going to do it.I've been completely compulsive about my exercise lately which I guess is not really a bad thing. I actually had to restrain myself from going to the gym. Yesterday, just because I. Awesome job lady :).

Steph and I then race with two of our friends at the Van Metre five miler. Monday, March 01, 2010. Today is my first day of Ironman training. Whew! A slight prob...

Recast In Iron: January 2009
http://recastiniron.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
I will be an Ironman. Thursday, January 15, 2009. I've booked most of my triathlons for this season. The first on is the CINCI One World Triathlon. I'm doing the Olympic distance, which is 1350m swim/40k bike/10k run. I will probably do the Beach 2 Battleship Half IM as well, but we'll see how my body is feeling. Ohh, one last thing.winter training sucks. To donate to the Carolyn E. Miller Steps for Solace Fund, please click here. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Alan B. Shepard.

Recast In Iron: November 2008
http://recastiniron.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
I will be an Ironman. Monday, November 24, 2008. So I've been a really bad blogger. Well folks, I haven't been blogging recently (as if you can't tell). These last three weeks have been a bear. But, things are finally getting back to normal. I had to travel a bunch for work and just got from Dallas this Friday after having spent the week in San Diego. In between those trips I ran the Richmond Half-Mary (which I'll post about soon). I am raising $25 thousand to provide comfort and solace to cancer patient...

I will be an Ironman. Thursday, March 05, 2009. NUUN is the shiznit! Over the last week or so, I've been testing out NUUN. The NUUN packaging is also pretty convenient. It comes in a tube and you simply drop a tablet in 16 ounces, give a minute or two, and you have your drink. Ran 4, swam 1 today. Nothing tmw, then 10 on Sat. To donate to the Carolyn E. Miller Steps for Solace Fund, please click here. I am raising $25 thousand to provide comfort and solace to cancer patients seeking treatment. So hey, ...

Recast In Iron: Triathlon and family
http://recastiniron.blogspot.com/2009/08/triathlon-and-family.html
I will be an Ironman. Thursday, August 27, 2009. I never thought that Steph would want to do a triathlon. After completing my first marathon, I desperately tried to convince her to run a full marathon. She has always claimed that she never had time to train for a full. She's probably right. She has a yeoman's career and really doesn't have the time; however, she has run multiple half-marathons. So, when she told me she wanted to do the Sprint, Splash, and Spin Triathlon, I was bowled over. AWESOME! My wi...

Recast In Iron: September 2009
http://recastiniron.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
I will be an Ironman. Monday, September 14, 2009. I can be a jerk. I know this. There is not a day that goes by, and rarely an hour, where I am not critisizing someone for something. My wife thinks I am a crotchety old man. My extended family even has a nickname for me. I'm known as the "jackass". My sister-in-law went so far as to buy me pajama bottoms that say jackass on them. On the road trip back home yesterday, I began to think about that book and what it stands for. Thoughts have an energy which at...

Recast In Iron: April 2009
http://recastiniron.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
I will be an Ironman. Sunday, April 12, 2009. But, otherwise it was wonderful. At on point I was near 35mph on a nice little downhill. It was awesome! I've begun to focus on time and not distance anymore for my training. I've been reading a bunch about long-distance tri training and most folks seem to recommend that for a number of reasons. So, tmw is 50 minute run. Tuesday is 50 minute run and 1 hour ride. To donate to the Carolyn E. Miller Steps for Solace Fund, please click here. I am so obsessed ...
