Rob Skiff

Saturday, July 08, 2006. July 7, 2006. Somewhere over the North Pole. It takes quite a while to fly to China. Right now I’m 30,000 ft over the Greenland cursing Continental Airlines’ movie selection. However, I’m also thinking about the possibilities that this trip has for the school. I’ve got a good feeling that if we can come to some type of understanding between Nanjing AV and Vermont Commons that this marks a start of a wonderful relationship. Posted by Rob Skiff @ 4:56 PM. Rob Skiff: October 2005

http://www.robskiff.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 12, 2005. China Pulls the Plug. In an official newspaper of the People’s Republic of China, Lau Nai-keung. Pretty much repeated what I have been saying for quite a while. The most troubling aspect of this article is that it is the only truthful account of the current state of the U.S. Economy to be found. Read it, it is important. Then she goes on to say. Outlines some of the larger implications. What is going to happen.what is going to be the open calalyst for the fall? Just wait unti...

Monday, February 20, 2006. My students are creating some H5N1 infection models and a report that they will be sending the Vermont Governor. Needing to have an example of quality inteligence work, I have asked them to read Globaltrends 2015. By our friends at Langley. Posted by Rob Skiff @ 10:45 AM. I have started a beekeeping blog. To record the first year of the hive. Things seem to be slowing down in my life, so I should have a little more time to write. My apologies to all two of my readers.

Friday, April 29, 2005. Hegemonic Dominance of Video Games. When an old thirty something from the print media recognizes that film is being dominated by video games you know something big has happened. In this article. Author James Pinkerton argues that gaming is now where cutting edge work on narrative is happening. He makes an interesting argument and I agree with a lot of the points he’s making. Posted by Rob Skiff @ 10:29 AM. Bush points to a bigger set of problems. Posted by Rob Skiff @ 10:05 AM.

Rob Skiff: September 2005

http://www.robskiff.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 07, 2005. It was an exciting summer. Leah and I had a son named Anjay Glenn. Needless to say most of my energy went into taking care of Austin and a very pregnant Leah. Since school has started, I will be updating this blog more religiously. My students at Vermont Commons have created a blog for their philosophy class. They are a gifted group of students. Their views of the world should prove quite interesting. Posted by Rob Skiff @ 8:44 AM. South Burlington, Vermont, United States.

Rob Skiff: March 2005

http://www.robskiff.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 30, 2005. Vermont is now debating its future energy policy. My students have just been assigned the job of reading the report. So just what are the honorable ones planning to do about this issue. What is their plan? It is interesting that the simple overview is posted using Adobe but the rest of the report is in Word Perfect. Does anyone even use WP anymore? Using this format to make documents to make these documents public is not the best way to practice open government. It is important...

Commons Co-op: November 2005

http://commonscoop.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html

Friday, November 18, 2005. Andrew Jaffe - Book Review. This book is very well written if you are interested in global warming and ecological footprints. This book however does have a small amount of unrealistic thoughts that are irrelevant. (building a dome over a city.). This book has highs and lows, but it is overall a good book with good facts on global warming and ecological footprints. And I strongly suggest that you read it to better your knowledge in this field. Posted by Griffen @ 7:50 AM. Portfo...

The Republic of Plato. Friday, September 23, 2005. Education of the Republic vs. VCS. Isn’t it for this reason that its only in such a city that we’ll find the shoemaker a shoemaker, and not a pilot along with his shoemaking, and the farmer a farmer, and not a judge along with his farming, and the skilled warrior a skilled warrior, and not a moneymaker along with his war making, and so on with them all?
