LAURIE HADLOCK ARTIST: August 2009
http://fullmoontide.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
For all of you who love that some things are still beyond our control, powerful and beautiful. Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Usually during some part of a painting, I completely get lost in it. It is a visual story. It's as if there is no memory of the process. When it happens, it's magical. Everything is more direct, as if you are painting from the heart directly to the canvas and you skip the brain completely- no interference! It was easy to get lost in it as it's a whole great story.

Freedom Diaries: How Drawing Saved Me
http://freedomdiaries.blogspot.com/2009/12/1.html
The ongoing adventure of being human. Friday, December 18, 2009. How Drawing Saved Me. C Sukie Curtis, "Insomnia I" 12/14/08. Last year on the second Sunday morning in December, I was not a happy camper. You know how it is sometimes, when it's cold outside of you and inside of you at the same time? And you're pretty sure that the internal coldness is not just about ambient temperature? And what a waste when its power gets employed so destructively! And tried to pick up and piece back together the shreds ...

The ongoing adventure of being human. Monday, February 15, 2010. New Turn in the Blogging Road. OK, this has really been happening for a while, and I've been meaning to make it more explicit. After sustaining two blogs, " Trusting Deligh. And " Freedom Diaries. For several months, I've decided to make life simpler and put the two into one. And since " Trusting Delight. Has been the longer-running of the two, it is the one that will continue, until some good reason arises for a change. This larger story i...

Freedom Diaries: October 2009

The ongoing adventure of being human. Monday, October 26, 2009. C 2008, Sukie Curtis, Backyard in Summer,. Oil on gessoed paper, 6.5"x6.5". I never did get around to explaining how I came by the title of my other, longer-running blog, Trusting. And I think it's time to do so. Which of course causes me to wonder if they are, or should be, one and the same blog. But when I recently read that it's a great idea for artists to blog about their work, and I thought: "Aha! Anyway, back to trusting delight. It wa...

Freedom Diaries: A Tale of Two Vision Boards
http://freedomdiaries.blogspot.com/2010/01/tale-of-two-vision-boards.html
The ongoing adventure of being human. Friday, January 15, 2010. A Tale of Two Vision Boards. Yesterday I moved back toward painting for the first time in quite a while, since well before Christmas. I'm not sure of all the factors involved in my choosing not to paint for so long, but I know some of them. Here's an intriguing thing (to me, anyway, maybe not to you! In the past year and a half, I have made two vision boards, using images and words pulled from magazines and catalogs. I honestly wasn't su...

Freedom Diaries: Are You Laodicean?
http://freedomdiaries.blogspot.com/2009/11/are-you-laodicean.html
The ongoing adventure of being human. Monday, November 23, 2009. I learned a new word this morning listening to Garrison Keillor's "Writer's Almanac" on NPR. It was the final word in the most recent national spelling bee, if I am remembering correctly. And while I actually am familiar with the source of this word, I never knew it was a word in its own right. The spewing out of the mouth bit was kind of catchy, too. November 23, 2009 at 12:36 PM. What the heck does that passage from Revelation mean? Irela...
