Sunday, August 30, 2015. Rudy was the dog whisperer in our family. He was the alpha dog in charge. I was happily second in command and my role was mostly sweet talking. I benefited from his discipline. He was good at keeping the dogs in line. He was firm, but fun, and they all loved him dearly. They towed the line because they wanted to please him. Saturday, February 28, 2015. Radiation Starting This Week. Rudy, Linda and Nancy met with Dr. Herskovik, a doctor in the Radiation/Oncology department, Thursday and Friday. I was at home while the floors were being installed. I sure hated missing those meetings. Nancy described Dr. Herskovik as similar to Einstein! They all agreed he was smart and nice. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Rudy's lab work today showed his platelets were down even lower. The radiologist said we could still continue radiation, but when he realized we were set to start immunotherapy next week, he decided to stop radiation now. It's already done what we wanted - cut the back pain. Rudy only had 3 days left anyway. Radiation is rough on platelets so having the extra days for his body to heal will help. Saturday, November 29, 2014. Saturday Nov 29 Update. He's eating well. Still weak but he looks so much better. Rested mostly all morning but walked to the mailbox in the afternoon! Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Well, my mind is certainly heading down an interesting path. It may take me straight to a padded room. Now I'm seeing things. Today, Luis and his brother, Joseph, came down and replaced some wood on our deck steps and porch rails. A few of the steps were in really bad shape and I was particularly worried that someone might get hurt. My sister-in-law, Nancy was also there helping me with some things in the house. I don't know, but one thing is certain - Luis is a really great guy.
