Sunday, July 26, 2015. 2015 Psycho Psummer 50K. Which I have been doing for a few years. I didn't see any other 50Kers in the 3rd loop but did see 10 and 20 milers. The course was even worse and I was managing 15 - 17 min per mile. Still felt strong but just couldn't run very fast due to the muddy conditions. I ran the 3rd loop in 2 hr 48 min and finished 5th overall in 7 hr 7 min. Overall: 5 of 19 (75 registered but many dropped down distance), 2nd of 9 in the 40 - 49. Previous summer race results:.

Saturday, June 06, 2015. 2015 Berryman 50 mile. It started raining in the first loop (25.7 miles) and it helped cool the temp down some. It would continue to rain until about an hour or so before I finished. Nothing eventful happened in the first loop. I finished it in 4:19 and in 7th place overall. Thursday, August 29, 2013. 2013 Leadville "Race Across The Sky" 100 Mile Trail Run. The next aid station, Half Pipe, is 5.6 miles and running on a paved road for a couple miles and then following a pipeline right-away. I made pretty good time on this section running about 10:30 - 10:45 pace. At mile 29, I am at 5 hr 54 min which is right where I wanted to be. Links to this post. Monday, September 02, 2013. 2013 Heart of America Marathon. Hugh had a much better race than last year finishing in 4:13 so took 31 minutes off his time from last year. The weather definitely helped some of the times today. At the finish, we had Hot Box cookies, fruit, and pretzels (contributed by Andy and Hugh). Also, had Gatorade G2 and soda. After we attended the pizza party and awards ceremony at Shakespeare's Pizza and then went home to nap. Race shirt, number, medal, and award. Links to this post.

Monday, July 15, 2013. 2013 Psycho Psummer 50K. Once more people cleared, I started thinking about our dogs Rusty and Bruno (died last Nov), then about a couple friends fathers that died on Friday, the stress of work, and the floor. Really not pleasant thoughts at all but eventually was able to let go of all this and just enjoy the run. My loop splits were:. 1st loop 1:38:59 - 18th. 2nd loop 1:41:18 - 12th. 3rd loop - 1:43:49 - 8th. Overall: 5:04:08, 8th of 67, 3rd of 21 of the 40 - 49. Links to this post.

Tuesday, July 7, 2015. The Heat is On. No, not in the beauty sense (but thanks if that's what you were thinking), in the freaking summer sense. Did spring skip North Carolina this year? I suhhhpose it could be my fault that running feels ooober hard these days. I do run at 3 or 4pm when the sun slams you in the face. I mean, ya gotta do what ya gotta do, but dang, sistah needs some reprieve! 1) I've become a hypochondriac. 2) We went to Asheville for a kick-a$ vacation. Jus' saying. Who knows though.
