New runner, pregnant, had HELLP last time. Pregnancy ups, emotional downs →. I keep thinking I’m keeping this blog much more up to date than I am. Where are we? I’ve had a LOT more medical appointments, and mostly everything looks fine, although I’m being followed up for excess amniotic fluid. That meant lots of blood tests. Or anything else. So still no idea why the extra fluid, but I’ll go back to the doctors next week, probably, and see what they think. And lymphocytes, that my GP. Which doesn’t...

Women of the Book →. September 14, 2014 · 12:14 pm. Minyan Scoring and Pick-up Minyanim. I recently started playing a game where I give scores to the minyanim I attend. Here’s the scoring system that I’ve worked out so far:. 10 points for having a women’s section set up before I get there. 100 points if there is no women’s section at all. 5 points if the women’s section feels like a sardine can. 7 points if I had to kick men out of the women’s section. 3 points for every other woman who is there. But it ...

Two moms… leaving 40 in our dust! November 20, 2013. Richmond Recap – I Did It! My mind has been spinning since the race on Saturday… I can’t believe I did it! And I can’t believe it’s over. After months and weeks of training, the actual race seems a blur. So off we went. We made it to the expo and collected our bibs:. I also made sure to pick up the 26.2 magnet for my car – fingers crossed, I’d be showing it off soon! Although I tossed and turned, suddenly it was morning. I got up, texted with my tr...
Running From Giants
The Holocaust Through The Eyes Of A Child. Combining prose with powerful imagery, Running from Giants follows a young boy’s struggle to survive in Nazi occupied Europe, from the forests where he and his brothers once happily played, to the horrors of the ghetto. While the narrative propels us through Srulik’s gripping true story, the black-and-white art reveals his journey through the imagination of a child caught in a land of giants. Running From God
Tuesday, July 18, 2006. Theater of the Absurd. They talk about the Theater of the Absurd. The stuff of Camus, Albee and Samuel Beckett. Meaningless plots. Nonsensical dialogue. Dramatic non-sequitors. The sort of anti-theater that drives the closed-minded to demand a refund. But you’re a young man. You can understand Kevorkian euthanasia. Suffering has never sounded very good to you. When your human capacities extinguish, when the body goes before the mind, you’d consider it. You’d rather...You look over...

Running routes from Hursley
Running routes from Hursley. Saturday, 6 October 2012. This is a fairly long run with 3 steep climbs, a lovely 1 mile descent, and a 1.5 mile downhill finish. Head off site towards Winchester, take the first left and go up, along and down again. Turn right and do a left-hand block then return the way you came. The eponymous Sign is after 3.7 miles as you turn left to start the long descent. What's this Strava thing then? You may have overhead people talking about Strava. At work. So what is it?
