From Hursley you head out over the fields parallel to Poles Lane. Follow the footpath signs to Compton. Take the underpass to get to the other side of the M3 and turn left on the main road. Running routes from Hursley. Tuesday, 24 May 2011. The Golf course loop. This 6.3 mile (10k and small change) loop is mostly on road but goes through a pretty golf course. The golf course section seems to stay in usable condition all year round. The first 2.1 miles are along the familiar Port Lane, then there's a couple of hilly miles, and the last 2 miles are downhill and flat all the way home. So as long as you can make it to the 4 mile point, you should be able to make it home. View my complete profile.
