Running to the Honky Tonk

Monday, January 31, 2011. I am knee deep in training for round two at the Lincoln marathon this spring. Things started out slow but my mileage has been slowly building up. I am feeling good about my training so far and trying to play it smart as to not exacerbate the potential for any injury. I have really enjoyed the Lincoln Marathon class that I joined. One the group motivation and structure of the class has helped me getting up my mileage again. It was nice to look on dailymile. I incurred training an...

Running to the Honky Tonk: Redo of a run one year later.

http://runningtohonkytonk.blogspot.com/2010/04/redo-of-run-one-year-later.html

Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Redo of a run one year later. I am really lucky to be living in the Twin Cities. There seem to be never ending trails to go and run and if you plan it correctly you could run on a different trail with different types of scenary every day. In fact the number of trails in Minneapolis has been a contributing factor that moved us past Portland, Oregon as the most bike friendly city in the US. Well fast forward almost a year and I redid that same run, but this time I brought my camera.

Running to the Honky Tonk: June 2010

http://runningtohonkytonk.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 6, 2010. Its been a while . Well I just spent sometime writing my first blog in a while and when I tried to publish it, it has disappeared. So I am going to go through this again and hopefully it will work. Its been rough since I last posted following the Lincoln marathon disaster. My knee was in pretty intense pain for the first couple of weeks following the marathon and the worst is that it just felt incredibly weak. Well it has also been a while since I shared another honky tonk gem with ...

Running to the Honky Tonk: February 2010

http://runningtohonkytonk.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 23, 2010. It feels good to be back running. And took it for a spin around Como Lake. The app easily tracked my distance and recorded my time. I do wish the app had more with keeping track of workouts (calories, etc). The other cool app that I had is an online music player called AOnline radio which will allow me to play two of my favorite stations Boot Liquor Radio. From Soma.FM and KEXP. Do you have any favorite running apps? Friday, February 19, 2010. Austin Recap, Part Two. We hobble...

Slowing Down to Enjoy the View. A runner's transition to hiking and backpacking. Much Ado About Tips. Tips? January 12, 2017. January 12, 2017. I’m talking specifically about these tips:. More accurately, tip protectors. For my Black Diamond Ergo Cork trekking poles. Why so excited? Because I bought them for $5.22 ($4.95 plus the ubiquitous sales tax). In tiny Greenville, ME. Running Towards Him

Learning about Life, Love, and the pursuit of Holiness, one trail at a time. Thursday, March 26, 2015. It's been a long time since posting very much on the blog. Much has transpired over this time and rather than try to catch up, I will start where I am. Either way, you are welcome to stay and even comment if you'd like. Jesus is allowed to le...

Running To Home -

June 23, 2015. What about my book order, they said I could get the horse book. Does this mean they won’t be taking dance lessons anymore? I hate our babysitter anyway! My memories of that morning are so incredibility vivid, it’s like it happened yesterday,. My sweet, broken mother tried to console and comfort her sweet, broken child. We all took turns having bad nights. Nighttime was always the worst! 8221; “Yes, I will come see you – where are you? 8221; “THIS IS SO HARD! Coming home aren’t you? Then su...
