On a quest to qualify for Boston. The day I cried on the sidewalk at 5 AM. This entry was posted on August 15, 2012. Bookmark the permalink. I just wrote a long, whiny post and wordpress ate it when I pressed “Publish”. Thanks for looking out for me! Hopefully this one will be less pathetic. Anyway, I ran 32 miles last week- pain free! I was feeling confident, and told my husband I was going to “kick CIM’s ass! I really did sit down on the curb and cry for awhile. Eventually I dragged my pathetic ass...

On a quest to qualify for Boston. I was never a runner when I was younger. I loved to play soccer and didn’t mind running as long as it was part of the game or a drill, but straight running seemed like torture to me! As a high school sophomore, I joined the track team because I wanted to avoid getting out of shape during the off-season of soccer. Well, that and because track was the only sport where they wouldn’t cut you from the team, and I was never all that athletically inclined! 8211; same marathon I...

On a quest to qualify for Boston. Santa Rosa Marathon Training Week 1 of 12. This entry was posted on June 12, 2012. Bookmark the permalink. Last week I began my “official” training for the Santa Rosa Marathon. I say “official” because I’ve spent the last couple of months working on speed, racing, and building up a good base, all of which play into my marathon preparations. The last 6 weeks of training included an average 43 miles per week, for 14-15 mile long runs, and 10k. 8211; rest day. 8211; long run.

On a quest to qualify for Boston. Random shit in my head. This entry was posted on August 9, 2012. Bookmark the permalink. There’s a lot of random crap floating around in my brain this week. Most of it has very little, if anything, to do with running. It’s kind of a nice break, actually! Noise it made when it hit the ground makes me want to vomit. In the past I’ve cut it out completely, but it crept back into my life😦. Now all I need is an extra hour a day to devote to yoga…. For us. This class was ...

On a quest to qualify for Boston. Women’s Fitness Festival 5k. This entry was posted on June 4, 2012. Bookmark the permalink. Yesterday I raced my first ever 5k at the Women’s Fitness Festival. Here in Sacramento. After last Monday’s race, I was feeling really tired and kind of “blah” so I took it relatively easy the rest of the week: 8 miles easy Wed, 6 miles. This is my “oh shit I have to run how fast? 8221; face. (All photos are from run club president). Somewhere in the second mile I started pulling ...

I'd (probably) rather sit on the couch. Feigning interest in off the couch activities like running and Bikram yoga. Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Our trip to Portland was awesome! So we caught up after the race over a cup of Ruby at the McMenamins Edgefield Brewery. That's right. We did the Pints to Pasta and then back to Pints race. I caught one of the first shuttles to the start and had almost an hour to sit around and wait. This was good and bad. On one hand it was a tad lonely. On the othe...Truthfull...

Thursday, 13 August 2015. My Top 3) Sunsets in Greece! Santorini Sunsets. Y'know, casual. Ok, EVERYONE knows about them famous sunsets in Oia, Santorini. Going to Greece, I expected Oia to be that one distinctly special spot where tourists always go to and gush about the amazing sunset view. Why else would everyone want to go over there and squeeze around with the rest of the crowd? Of all the beautiful daily sunsets, these were the sunset spots that stood out (for various reasons)! 3 Oia, Santorini.
