Charlotte's Web Log: Park Run
http://charlotteeaston.blogspot.com/2014/02/park-run.html
Saturday, February 1, 2014. This morning, I participated in the Park Run for the first time. As you can see, it was a beautiful morning but Brockwell was rather flooded. Where you see puddle, there should be tarmac. A little over two years ago I did my one and only run with Dulwich Runners. The next day I was diagnosed with aggressive, stage 4 breast cancer. My first words to the doctor were "But I ran 11km yesterday! But that doesn't matter". February 1, 2014 at 12:14 PM. Travels of a Tandem.

Charlotte's Web Log: In the Pink
http://charlotteeaston.blogspot.com/2014/02/in-pink.html
Monday, February 17, 2014. Lovely Laura Fitzgibbon, a colleague from Emanuel has been kicking my butt the last couple of weeks. Thanks to her encouragement, I finished my third Park Run and managed a new personal best. Running has helped me stay sane in the last few weeks and I think I'm finding my mojo again. I owe Laura a bun. Towards the end of the race I spied a photographer and managed to catch him after I'd scanned in. He very kindly emailed me these pictures. His site is here. Travels of a Tandem.

Charlotte's Web Log: The bitch is back

Saturday, December 13, 2014. The bitch is back. Metastatic cells have been found floating in my lungs. I don't understand; the picture was so rosy only a matter of weeks ago. I've had time to adjust my thinking. I am proud that I've done my best to keep myself fit and healthy. I am going to need all the physical strength I have. One in the eye of the alien. Charlotte's Web Log: Dylan Thomas
http://charlotteeaston.blogspot.com/2014/02/dylan-thomas.html
Saturday, February 1, 2014. The Prayer of Eli Jenkins from "Under Milk Wood" - Dylan Thomas. Over the years I have learnt a great deal from my students. This week, a very special member of my adorable sixth form Latin class introduced me to this prayer-poem. Not only has he lent me his copy of collected Dylan Thomas poems, but also insisted on reading it to me, complete with Welsh accent. The pictures are from Seaham in the summer. Every morning when I wake,. Dear Lord, a little prayer I make,.

These days I call myself a runner...: South Downs Way 50
http://www.naominf.com/2015/04/south-downs-way-50.html
These days I call myself a runner. Wednesday, 8 April 2015. South Downs Way 50. With things having gone so poorly in the last few months, and with so little preparation in the week leading up to the race, it was with some trepidation that I arrived in Worthing on Saturday morning, looking for the start of Centurion’s South Downs Way 50 miler. That soon gave way to mild panic when I realised I’d arrived at the wrong place. Good to get all the mistakes and problems out of the way in the first hour of arriv...

These days I call myself a runner. Tuesday, 30 June 2015. The Great Barrow Challenge - 4in4. This weekend, I took part in the Great Barrow Challenge in Suffolk. It's a running festival, with people taking on half marathons, marathons, ultras, and combinations of the three, over a 10 day period. The most extreme option is running 10 x 50km ultras in 10 days! 65279;However, it turns out, running marathons is actually pretty tough. I think with all the ultras, I'd forgotten. Us at ZZ Top. But through force ...

These days I call myself a runner...: Too much too soon
http://www.naominf.com/2015/06/too-much-too-soon.html
These days I call myself a runner. Monday, 8 June 2015. Too much too soon. Yesterday I ran the Stour Valley Marathon, a race that I have been looking forward to all year since defering my 2014 entry. It rounded off a 46 mile week, my first of the Juneathon challenge. 8 June 2015 at 19:14. Lovely to see you but you were definitely brave running a marathon 2 weeks after GUCR! Hope you recover well and see you at another run soon! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Results I'm most pleased with. There are ...
