Holey Vision: Ruth Hartley's Birthday
http://holeyvision.blogspot.com/2013/11/ruth-hartleys-birthday.html
Writer and rather dodgy poet with retinitis pigmentosa searches for insight in the world slowly fading around her. Wednesday, 6 November 2013. Silent John sings to Mum! Mum's book 'The Shaping of Water' is being published on 2nd January 2014 and this is the link to her website for further details and art work. My contribution, apart from pushing furniture around and then testing all the Pinot Grigio was a poem. This one. My Mother speaks colour;. A language of taupe and tumeric, orange and ochre. Love it...

Let's see how long it is until we have the finished book in our hands! Posted by Ignis Fatuus and Noname. My attempts to download the photos having failed, I can only direct you to the Labatut-Riviere website:- http:/ www.labatut-riviere.fr/index.php? Let's hope the site server doesn't pack up this time! epicblogue: AJACCIO
http://epicblogue.blogspot.com/2014/11/ajaccio.html
Wednesday, 12 November 2014. This Post is of photos taken the first day of our visit to Corsica in Ajaccio, the capital. We read about the street market, selling farmers' produce before we realised we were already there. This notice in our hotel seems to offer a refund for any meals paid for in the restaurant. And we can see here, on a notice for the Petit Train, that Napoleon, who was born on the island and apparently couldn't stand it, came from an isillystriou family. Is that somewhere in Greece?

epicblogue: FILITOSA 8000 YEAR STANDING STONES
http://epicblogue.blogspot.com/2014/11/filitosa-8000-year-standing-stones.html
Monday, 17 November 2014. FILITOSA 8000 YEAR STANDING STONES. In southern Corsica we visited the bronze/iron age settlement of Filitosa, set a few miles from the sea. The standing stones there are rather unique (purists may object to "rather unique" but, what the hell) in that humans and metal weapons are depicted on them. This is taken from the top of the monument and shows 4 of the 5 standing stones in a group. This is one of the early shelters. A recently stripped cork oak. Ruth Hartley Art and Writing.

epicblogue: PROPRIANO
http://epicblogue.blogspot.com/2014/11/propriano.html
Wednesday, 19 November 2014. We were told not to go to Propriano. "It's awful and full of people." Well, in late October it was fine. Only two hotels open, but most of the restaurants and very few people to be seen. The first two pictures are taken from the window of our hotel. I can't actually remember where this was. I'd like to see how they get the washing in and out. These photos were on the way to Campomoro. Posted by Ignis Fatuus and Noname. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

epicblogue: CORTE
http://epicblogue.blogspot.com/2014/11/corte.html
Monday, 17 November 2014. After having spent the first night of our sojourn in Ajaccio, we went on to Corte, which at one time was the capital of Corsica in the time of Pascual Paoli, president of independent Corsica for a couple of handfuls of years in the 18th. century. These two pictures are of his house, still pock marked. Corte is a stronghold of Corsican nationalism. As can be seen from the photos, Corte has a considerable fortress at its centre.
