Sharrow Lantern Carnival

Sharrow Lantern Carnival 2009. The Sharrow Lantern Carnival is an annual event which has taken place on the Sunday before Easter for the past 5 years. This year the theme was 'Folklore: Myths and Legends' which gave great scope for some fantastical creations including the genie and the lamp and the iron man, both of which stood at over 3 metres tall! MadLab Work

Crocheted Light Balls, work in progress. In February 2010 I spend a Saturday at MadLab in Manchester. A new FabLab/ HackLab. http:/ madlab.org.uk/. They held a workshop to explore the use of Arduino's (mini magical computers in chips), conductive threads and LED's. I took along my crochet and enjoyed a day of talking about things I don't understand and being boggled by craft/tech possibilities! This is an ongoing project that I will add to when I have time/ learn some more technical know how.

New Arts Exchange

Guerilla Knitting for New Art Exchange, Nottingham. In January 2011 I was commissioned to run a series of workshops for the brilliant New Art Exchange. Contemporary art centre in Nottingham. I held workshops at the local Berridge Junior school, teaching knitting skills, resulting in the creation of Guerilla knit pieces which were installed in the cafe space at NAE during January. Pop Up Access Space

Pop Up Access Space, June 2011. In June 2011 I worked with participants at Access Space to create a 'pop-up' installation to celebrate all that is good about Access Space, a social media lab that is run on free open source software and recycled technology. We created this amazing visual explosion in the foyer and then used it as a backdrop to film their 10 year anniversary video which will be used to promote the space. Video to come!
