When the upper longerons are placed against the firewall (page 29-08), the upper engine mounts should lay flush against the firewall gussets F-1401L. The right side clearly did not. The plans call for AACQ4-4 rivets backed by NAS1149FN416P (a.k.a., AN960-4L) washers. There are two parts to the rudder cable guides and their thicknesses differ. Below are the left cable guides. To properly ream, one ought to use a drill press to prevent the introduction of an incorrect bit trajectory. Negotiating these bulkheads on a consumer drill press. I believe the problem was caused by the reamer not being properly lined up with the holes to be reamed. I think the reamer came in at an angle. Stoney and J's N214SW Build. Lessons & Hints. June 21, 2015. I went ahead and installed the pitch Autopilot. Garmin sent a solid aluminum rod and it first had to be cut to size. Then it needed a hole in the middle of it and then it had to be tapped to accept the fitting. As this site comes up, we’ve gotten the emp/tailcone kit done as far as we’re going to for now. That means we have not mounted the emp to the tailcone, or the trim tabs, rudder, etc. although they are built. We received the tailcone/emp kit at the end of the year and on Sept 11, 2013 we received the wings, fuse and finish kits. The making of N912JN.
