The Fields - LD29. Smoke and Fire Flipbooks. Custom shaders to replace Unity default particle shaders. This is a demonstration and explanation of the lit particle shaders I wrote for use with the Shuriken Particle System in Unity. They include:. 1 Alpha Blended Lit. 2 Alpha Blended Lit Up-Shade. 4 Emissive Lit Up-Shade. These lit shaders use the main directional light and ambient light in a scene to help the particles better fit in with other materials.

The Fields - LD29. Smoke and Fire Flipbooks. The Fields - LD29 (2014). Game Art, Game Design, VFX, Programming, Sound Design. The Fields is about a colony of bunnies (one at a time) trying to make their way across the mine-laden no-mans-land of a WWI battlefield. Make your way across each field and try to sidestep or jump over any landmines in your way. Dig to learn how close you are to a landmine: red is one block away, yellow is two. The Fields - LD29. Smoke and Fire Flipbooks. In college, I worked on a collaborative project with Microsoft to explore new uses for the Kinect. On that project I was lead animator and storyboard artist. We produced a series of connected gameplay vignettes to demonstrate some possible applications for Kinect in a hypothetical team-based shooter. I also regularly use storyboarding as a way of exploring or communicating game design ideas.

The Fields - LD29. Smoke and Fire Flipbooks. This is some technical art I've been working on recently. It includes A few explosions, smoke, and shockwave particle effects; throwable chainsaws; an implementation of retroreflectivity for my Simple Physical Shader; a fix for collision errors on high velocity rigidbodies; and distance based lens flares, shockwave effects, sound, and camera wiggle for explosions. You can download and try the scene out for yourself!

The Fields - LD29. Smoke and Fire Flipbooks. This is a collection of some of my latest work in VFX and technical art. I wrote a Simple Physical Shader for use with Unity Free. This shader is meant to work in a non-linear, non-hdr lighting environment like the one found in the free version of unity. It uses a Main Color Metallicity model for shading and uses RSRMs for environment lighting. I make special effects using the Unity Shuriken Particle System. Smoke and Fire Flipbook Experiements.
