Anniversary of the Free Speech Movement, a student uprising that took place in two phases in Berkeley during the fall of 1964. The first phase was the sit-in around the police car, which occurred in October. On the steps of Sproul Hall on December 2, 1964. Curiously, the university that prosecuted the protestors in 1964 now plays up those events in fundraising efforts.

Vi stod uppställda på däck för att gå på vår vakt, klockan var strax före 20:00. Himlen var mörk, med några stjärnor här och var. Våg efter våg sköljde över däck och korta regnbyar avlöste varandra, allt medan vinden ven i riggen. Seglingen hade kunnat få en lite lugnare start, men på ett skepp som Radich kände vi oss ändå trygga. Vi hamnade på 8-12 vakten även den här streckan.
