Wednesday, 13 February 2008. It later transpired there was a reggae festival on somewhere near by and the place was heaving as a result! Sunday, 2 March 2008. It was really strange to hear the local Lao people chatting away in French! Accommodation and restaurant prices here were a bit of a shock, and it seemed apparent from the word go that this place was a real hit with affluent middle aged westerners! Saturday, 3 May 2008. Thailand - Railay Bay. After yet another brief stint in Bangkok we headed down south towards Malaysia - stopping off at Railay Bay (Tonsai Beach) in the Krabi province. This is without doubt the nicest of Thailand's beaches and due to the spectacular rock formations is very popular with climbers, so has a fairly cool vibe. Its a pretty authentic island-esque experience as the beach is only accessible by boat or a pretty intense climb over some cliffs! View my complete profile.
