Today I met some kind folks that belong to the adivasi (indigenous) people group, Tripura. I found love in their smiles. Just right there, in their smiles. Today Liam meets Aunt Sara. I truly felt like I was right there in the hospital room with them. I was even technically the first in the fam to meet sweet Liam! Thank you, Skype. Seriously. August 25, 2011. Liam Sheppard Enger is born! What an amazing and blessed day. I am happy to celebrate my second nephew born into the world. Girls in the Kitchen.

On October 26th, Sara departed from Dulles airport in Washington, DC to Windhoek, the capitol of Namibia, to become a Peacecorps volunteer. For the next two years, Sara planned to serve as a Teacher-Trainer in northern Namibia. Sara's assignment was in Kongola in the Caprivi Strip- Katima Mulilo was the nearest large town. Unrest broke out there in early August and Sara was evacuated to Windhoek. On August 18th, Sara returned to the U.S. and is now awaiting her new assignment. In Africa to date.

This ancient seaside fortress is the backdrop for my family's adventures through life as we navigate with craft and spice. I volunteered myself to make a cake for a first grade class party. but really I was looking for a project. Although not the most clean cut cake decoration, it's not the worst thing I've thrown together either. Step One: Cut Jerusalem out of gum-paste, sugar dough, fondant or modeling chocolate (whatever). Alvesta-ban nagyon szép a naplemente. Az első hetekben nem tűnt fel, de később megtaláltam a megfelelő helyeket, ahonnan a legszebb látvány nyílik az égre. / The sunsets in Alvesta are beautiful. I didn't notice it in the first few weeks but then I found the best places where you get a wide view of the sky. A kedvenc helyemről Alvesta-ban!
