Friday, April 17, 2009. While I am not currently training for a triathlon, I am still interested in tri-training, because I plan to resume tri-training in the future, maybe as soon as 2010 ramping up for another IM in 2011. I just read an article on training volume. That sounded interesting. The concept being discussed is why many age-groupers hit "the wall". Jesse explains his theory of the volume required to avoid what he terms System Failure. Swim – 9/3 of the event distance, per week. That's me next ...

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Tech Tuesday - Mid year review. I have been neglecting my blogging as of late. I apologize, but will not give excuses, even though I have plenty. Suffice it to say that there are more important things in life than blogging. Since we are half-way through the year, I thought a quick review would be a good idea to see what I have done this year that make me a better Dad, husband, employee, etc. So, what about you? Any progress on your annual goals? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Other B...

Monday, May 25, 2009. I think my post over on my photography blog. Says it the best way I know how. Wednesday, May 13, 2009. I have been doing a lot of management with my family phone plan lately and just wanted to share some of the things I have learned to save some money on your bill. I also got some parts of this from a friend who had some shortcuts for these. If you have any other tips, please feel free to comment with your ideas. These are from my dealings with Verizon. If you have enough lines/minu...

Saturday, February 27, 2010. Epic Ride (sort of). It was beneath an overcast post-dawn sky that this epic ride was started. OK, maybe most people wouldn't consider it an Epic Ride. Alright, I wouldn't even have considered this an epic ride a few years ago, but hey, I just doubled my 2009 bike mileage in a single morning. Pretty embarrassing to admit that my total logged bike miles for 2009 was 4. It did feel good to get out for a bit over 30 min this morning and I hope to get more rides real soon.

Friday, May 28, 2010. CAN - step - step - step - CAN. Your biggest challenge isn't someone else. It's the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs, and the voice inside you that yells 'CAN'T", but you don't listen. You just push harder. And then you hear the voice whisper 'can'. And you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really a. In 60 seconds, I was ready to run again. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Some of my favorite links. Saturday, July 18, 2009. I went for a run last night. I didn't track my time (even took my watch off). I didn't track my distance (didn't even bring my Garmin with me). But it was still the best run I have had in a very long time. I got home after work and knew I needed. A run It was 110 outside and a dust and wind storm were on the horizon, but I didn't care. Status very much. I finally decided that heat warning or not, I was going running. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Some of my favorite links.

Saturday, July 2, 2011. Leadville Trail Marathon - DFL DNF DNS. First of all a few definitions to make sure everyone understands the title:. A city in Colorado that sits at about 10,000 feet above sea level. A path, generally smaller and less maintained than a road. Sometimes just wide enough for one person to walk. 262 mile running event. A marathon run completely or largely on trails. And he said "No way! Plenty of time left.". I made it to the aid station with 7 minutes left so I started the next leg ...

Sunday, January 9, 2011. 2010 Year in Review. So what will 2011 bring? I have spent some time during the last part of 2010 working on getting my financial and physical house in order. Working on (and living on) a budget is not fun, but is necessary and better than the alternative. Dr visits are a good thing to catch possible problems before they are serious. Watching my sodium intake today is better than medication (or worse) later. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Some of my favorite links. A Guy Who Runs.

Sunday, September 27, 2009. My 2 dogs like to play. The 8 year age difference and 60 pound advantage make no difference to the Young Pup (YP) and he will still try to to get the toy away from Old Dog (OD). Sometimes he even wins, or maybe OD just lets him win or gets tired. Maybe it is true what they say:. It is not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog that matters most. Remember that the next time you think you have bitten off more than you can chew. Ps By request, pi...
