Sunday, June 18, 2006. Made some Elderflower vodka and elderflower gin today. After all, it's the middle of the English elderflower season, I'll see if we can't preserve the flavour. I'm going to turn the jars over the next couple of days, but not shake any more: too much agitation when making elderflower cordial will make it taste of stalk, I am assuming that this will happen here too. Not sure what I'll be using it for. I got the original recipe from Hecticium. Will keep you posted with any developments.

Sunday, June 11, 2006. Lunch today was a Dickinson and Morris. Pork pie and salad. Now, I'm a bit of an expert on pork pies - used to be in charge of quality control at one of the UK's biggest pork pie factories - but this pie was something else. The pastry was crisp, the filling was quite a coarse mince - flavoured with pepper, as you'd expect from a Melton Mowbray pork pie - and there wasn't too much jelly. Posted by EMF at 6:17 pm.
