A man travels the world over in search of what he needs and returns home to find it. (George Moore, 1852-1933). Friday, December 24, 2010. We're sliding into Christmas here and it's as hot as hades, my least favorite way to celebrate what for me is a cold-weather holiday. This marks my third warm weather Christmas and I still haven't quite wrapped my head around it. In fact, this year I didn't even decorate. (But I promise, there's a reason for that! Aren't there are men you could date in the embassy?

For the first time in a very long time - maybe even ever - I had Jeff and Liz's undivided attention for ten whole days. Here in Buenos Aires, and then in Puerto Iguazu and Colonia. It was AWESOME. I already wish they would come back. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Mad Maggie-delicous (puppy so tasty! It keeps me in touch, and it keeps me sane.

A man travels the world over in search of what he needs and returns home to find it. (George Moore, 1852-1933). Wednesday, August 03, 2011. Although it is unlikely to make front page news, Congress is once again debating whether to continue paying Foreign Service Officers Overseas Comparability Pay (OCP). This time around, they're slipping it into the appropriations bill - if the bill mentions OCP, some/all of it will get funded; if not, it will amount to a 16% pay cut for me and many of my colleagues.

A man travels the world over in search of what he needs and returns home to find it. (George Moore, 1852-1933). Saturday, March 03, 2012. On Argentine Men (a kinder, gentler edition). Now that I am sliding into the end of my time here in Argentina, I have begun to think about the things I will miss about being here. To be honest, while my dating life has been nonexistent (not a complaint, I promise! I have really enjoyed all the random men that have walked into my life. All those aged porteros. It is the...

And overly confident as Argentine men. A few weekends ago, I'm in Montevideo, visiting my friend Kaitlin, and we're standing by the guard shack at the Marine House, waiting for our cab, when.a group of Uruguayans walk past to leave the party. One of them breaks off from the pack and approaches Kaitlin and I, saying:. Again, "They're a...
